I really don't get this fascination with Chip Kelly. What he did at Oregon? He did that with Nike money backing him. He made some of the dumbest coaching decisions in NFL history at Philly and SF. And no, he ain't Saban part II.

If I am Curry, I start with Patterson and Petersen. I think either of those guys here would excite top recruits. Or we go rip off PJ Fleck from Minnesota. It will cost, but coaching salaries aren't getting less stupid. I don't think Kelly is worth the time.

Tennessee also has the biggest bunch of nit picky morons on the board of regents. So, any money going to the program has to go through them. And anyone who has casually followed the Vols for any time knows that.

Nike money means it doesn't have those kind of dip sticks getting in the damn way. To build our training center, they would have called multiple donors. Oregon made one call to the guy that owns Nike. Or maybe he call the AD first. That is why Nike money has everything to do with it.

He left because he had the chance/wanted to try his hand in the NFL.

Lots of coaches have done it, and most were not successful.
