The fact Tennessee had a chance to win that game at the end is an indication of how terribly UGA played that day.

That was a frustrating day in Athens. The game was winnable...For as short-handed and inept as we seemed offensively, we had a chance to steal one on the road. When your opponent plays as poorly as Georgia did, you need to get the victory...but we just couldn't get it done.

Our offense really didn't get going until the middle of the fourth quarter. It was definitely a hard one to watch.

Auburn was really lucky to finish 6-2 in the SEC. In 2007, don't be surprised if Auburn finishes 4-4.

As for the East, yeah, it's the hardest division in football to predict. After looking at a large range of variables, Florida, Georgia, and Tennessee are all DOWN on paper, and S. Carolina is UP, but only a little bit.

Kentucky will come back to earth. They had a miracle 2006 season and lose 4 OL starters.

The West is also strange. LSU lost a ton to the draft, had some close wins, but were the most talented club in the conference. Arkansas loses a ton to the draft, but that's it. Auburn lost a lot, had a misleading record, and was incredibly lucky. Alabama is one of only two teams in the conference where everything is looking up: few losses to the draft, unlucky 2006, and actually performed well outside of the red zone. Do YOU really think Nick Saban will allow that to continue.

Each division is 4 teams deep, and if Kentucky continues the miracle, the East is 5 teams deep.

Hell yes. It was the first and only game where I was so bored, I couldn't just sit and watch. Well, when games are exciting, I'm up and moving around at home, but my eyes are locked. During that Georgia game, I was antsy, uncomfortable, and basically bored out of my skull.

The salient point about Georgia's season last year was not that they lost to both Vandy and Kentucky in the same year, but that Richt was able to hold the season together and turn it around in a big way. Instead of going in the tank like a certain SEC team they year before, they managed to pull it together and finish with three big wins -- at huge favorite Auburn, against favorite and hated rival Tech, and a bowl game win. Let's just say that there's no question which fanbase is more optimistic going into 2007.

I know you're in Atlanta, so you're close to it as well . . . but that's not really what I'm seeing around here. They did come on at the end of last season, but they are scared to death that their defense won't be able to stop anybody. Their defense gave up obscene yardage in their Spring game.

There was an article in my local paper yesterday talking about the possibility that UGA could actually have 3 losses by early October. (They play SC, Oklahoma St. and @ Alabama before they play us.)

true i was there last time. that was a terrible game our great 5-6 season.:banghead2: :banghead2:
I'll never forget that game due to the Jason Allen injury. It made me sick.

As for the article, I'd say picking KY last in the East is going agasint the grain. Also, I did not realize that SC has 10 returning starters on their defense. Maybe this is a good year for the Cocks to make a run?

If I have to listen to SOS gloat again after beating the Vols I will personally send the moving vans to Phil's house.

Ask Auburn and Virginia Tech how horrible Georgia was at the end of the year.

True, at the end of the season, they were playing much better then UT was.

UT probably played its best 3 games at the beginning of the year against Cal, Florida, and GA. Not sure what caused that. A couple of key injuries on defense perhaps.

It is safe to assume that no fanbase, including LSU will make it through the summer without pertinent questions regarding their programs. Everyone in the league has some tremendous holes to fill. The only possible exception to that is SC, and they are replacing Rice.

and SOS's coaching is good for usually one upset.
