For the UT fans who have made the trip to Gainesville in the past, please tell us about your experience.

Thanks, I'll hang up and listen.

I once saw a young lady at a fraternity party at UF in an upstairs room without any clothes. Should I be concerned?

LOL.

Throwing the ber was uncalled for, but you admitted to engaging in smack with rival fans wherever you go. That tends to open you up for confrontations that cross the line.

I've been one time; not sure the when but it was in the early 200's (amaybe 2001 or 2003?). Whatever year it was that James Banks caught the hail Mary at the end of the first half and we won. Saw a lot of chomping early in the game but nothing, absolutely nothing, after that. It was a glorious day.

I hate that weasel they have that comes out before the game--may be the biggest goofball ever.

Go Vols!

This will be my 7th trip to the swamp. I have never had a problem with Florida fans. You will see as much visiting fan abuse in Knoxville. Put 100,000 rabid SEC fans in a stadium and you will always have jerks.

That was the 2003 game, and by the 3rd quarter I was cheering for UT to pile it on so Zook would get canned.....I had to wait an entire season for us to send that idiot packing.

I live in Florida. The redneck factor here is off the charts. I'll go to any other school in the SEC for an away game.. but not to the sewer...

Gainesville is an undeniable hellhole of a town, but Knoxville ain't exactly a peach either. I was talking to someone today who was trying to get a travel partner for this weekend and I found myself trying to talk him out of going. It's going to be ugly down there. No good can come to any UTK fan in Gainesville this Sat. no matter what the outcome of the game is. This is expecially true if you are a young man with any semblance of a chip on your shoulder. You're better off selling your tickets to a Gator at a mark-up and just driving on over to St. Augustine for the weekend.

They don't want to read this. They want to read stories involving tossed excrement and little old ladies being hurled to their deaths from the top row of the east stands. They want stories of being kidnapped and held prisoner in abandoned well under a single wide and having their back skin made into "Go Gator" lampshades.

yeah I am old. They had football back then but the ball wasn't made of pigskin. We actualy carried the pig and knocked the hell out of whoever had it. Not many passing attacks back then

I was there in 2001, and it was a blast. The fans were extremely cool to me, and I didn't have a single person give me a hard time.
My friends and I went to a place called the Purple Porpoise to hang out on Friday night. We had Florida fans invite us to chill with them, and we talked football all night. They even played Rockytop on the sound system, and all the Tennessee fans got up on the stage to sing. It was fun.
After we won the game, I had Florida fans congratulating me (like I had anything to do with the win), and patting me on the back. We even had a UF fan buy us a pitcher of beer while at a bar celebrating the win.
That's when I noticed David Keith was there. I went to talk to him about how Maryville High School had just won another state title (he was a MHS fan too that year), so then he too bought us a pitcher.

I too live in Florida. Polk County to be exact which is predominantly redneck gator fans. What i hate about them is most here that i have found are band wagon fans. If the Gators ever falter they will be wearing Miami or FSU hats. Example my neighbor whom i've talked football with before never mentioned being a Gator fan but after they won the NC this past year all of a sudden they have a Gator flag in their window. I hate people like that.
