The stupidity of Team Nico

If Nico didn't like the system, why did he come here in the first place? He had a good look at it in 2022, with Hendon Hooker, during his recruitment.

.... and why did he go all the way through spring practice? He could have entered the portal in December and transferred wherever he wanted and had immediate eligibility - including within the SEC.

The Iamaleava camp is doing public relations damage control and trying to spin a narrative that Nico's skipping practice on Friday wasn't all about money and greed .... but that just doesn't make any sense.

They were well aware of the talent on the roster and the system that we would be running. If those things were truly the issue, he would have transferred after the CFP loss like Carson Beck did.

The only thing that makes sense is that they wanted more money, and they thought that Tennessee would cave in to their demands.
Likely 8 million reasons.

You could say that greed brought him here (he would have gone to Oregon, otherwise) and it also drove him away.

Madden Iamaleava wound up at Arkansas despite having never visited Fayetteville before he signed with them. He had been committed to UCLA.

The Iamaleava's are all about the Benjamin's.

Nico Iamaleava will probably end up having to accept less money than he was scheduled to be paid in 2025 under his NIL agreement with Spyre, and his dad will file a frivolous law suit against Tennessee/Spyre over something .... it's just a matter of time.

People like this never accept responsibility for their actions.
Spyre will counter if they Nico’s camp is dumb enough to sue. He blew off numerous obligations in the contract. Now I’m sure he had “reasons “ for missing but he’s blown off multiple autograph sessions, media interviews, etc. There’s a chance they come out with even less money if they sue Spyre. On Tennessee’s end, white doesn’t strike me as being unprepared for anything and they knew these people were becoming a pain in the ass so I imagine a lawsuit would go very poorly for Nico.

Tennessee QB Nico Iamaleava enters NCAA transfer portal, has do not contact tag

I'm really starting to think that papa Nic may have some serious mental health issues. They have a do not contact tag on him in the portal. All reports are that teams are walking away. I'm really having trouble believing that he has someone lined up at the money they are asking. Im wondering if this isn't another deception by papa nic to make it look like he has got something in the works to generate interest rather than get realistic with the price....further hurting his chances.

It's most likely a bluff IMO... that's all they ever do is bluff, like a degenerate at a high-stakes poker table. Problem is, papa Nic thinks he's good at it, when in reality the entire poker table knows exactly what cards he is holding (and it ain't a winning hand).

They don't have much time to be playing games. Portal is only open until the 25th. I'm willing to bet that the top of their priority list will be keeping the NIL agreement quiet because they will want to save face after all of this is said and done.

Wonder what Arkansas had to give up to get Grifters Son #2 to come play with the Hogs ? And wonder if the family will be in the stands in SEC games next fall ? Be fun to see the reaction.

I think once you are in the portal, you can take as much time as you want to exit it. So they do not have to have a deal by the 25th. Not that dragging it out would be a good thing.

25th is the deadline to enter the portal, not to exit it. They can stay in the portal til school starts in the fall. (Not suggesting they would or should, just that they could).

Now they are saying Nico’s camp never requested a raise. Hard to keep up with the lies
I saw that too. If it was just a matter of wanting Tennessee's staff to recruit better, what was skipping practice on Friday going to accomplish?

As if Tennessee's staff wasn't trying to recruit well .... but the starting QB laying out of a spring practice was going to snap them into shape? Their story has become so ridiculous.

Yes, but his best scenario to get money is going to replacing a qb that jumps in the portal for another school. Coaches are going to want to have their qb situation figured out.

Sure, but that has nothing to do with the 25th. There is no deadline on that.

Does “Team Nico (Big Nic)” really have any credibility?

Only the desperate take them at their word at this point.

Go Vols!
