In case you missed this in high school, federal law supercedes state law. It's a federal law not an FBI law. The FBI has a responsibility to investigate and so does the House for its own members.

I was watching news about the President of the United States committing perjury, being accused of sexual harassment, assault, and rape. I was listening to the President of the United States curiously searching for the definition of 'is.' Had Clinton come right out and stated, "Yes, I had a sexual relationship with Monica Lewinsky, because my wife is a frigid lesbian," then I doubt it would have been covered for very long.

In case you missed it in high school, Federal legislation is only to apply to actions which have an effect on more than one state. Just because the "Interstate Commerce Act" bastardized the system, does not make it right.

I'm shocked by someone so anti-conspiracy in the past would make such an assertion. ABCNews was given this in August and it took a month for the full investigation to take place. CREW sent the emails to the FBI in July and the FBI declined to pursue. The House leadership was evidently told about this last year by their own admission. Plenty of people had the opportunity to look into this and address it long ago. Everyone had access to the same info but only ABCNews carried it on from their initial receipt of this info.

I find it odd that the GOP knew way in advance and did nothing but yet it was some Dem conspiracy that is somehow decried here.

What about those YEARS before he committed perjury? I guess you didn't have a TV those years before he lied and this received all of that coverage? There were PACs and special interest groups popping up all over the political map on this. Drudge made his career on this....all before Clinton lied under oath.

Residents of multiple states? Anything in the district involving federal laws is taken up by the FBI as well. I guess you need to take it up with the FBI who is actively pursuing this. Call Alberto up and inform him you know his agency is acting out of its jurisdiction. I'm sure he'll take your call and listen.

No, I will let them pursue it, solely because nothing is going to come of this. The investigation will find that no criminal activity took place, yet, the Democrats and the media who have dragged Hastert's name through the dirt will never make a big to do over the fact that he was under no obligation to take any extensive action.

You do mean those years that Clinton was under investigation for sexual assault, rape, oh yes, and conspiracy in the death/murder of Vince Foster, right?

How are you so sure? Were you there chatting with Foley? You seem very sure that a man with a sketchy past has done no wrong. So this warrants no further investigation? We should all just drop this? Just because a man resigned we should walk away from looking to see if laws were broken or children were harmed?

Remind me....was he ever found guilty of any of those? Hmm? So I guess investigations of child predators are just low on the totem pole and have no significance at all. Forgive me for being alarmed by the fact that a sitting member of Congress was acting this way and perhaps violating federal laws. I was totally off base.

It's not like I'm Oliver Stone analyzing the the Zapruder film here. It's not a conspiracy, it's a textbook October surprise.

Calling this a conspiracy is like saying it's a conspiracy that it gets dark when the sun goes down. It's no conspiracy, it's just the way things work.

It says today Foley is stepping down from congress following his scandel addressing some incidents on very young pages in related story micheal jackson is considering running for congress next year.

Unpaid to the tune of $1,344 a month.

Also, these are not your average 16, 17, and 18 year olds. The young men who finally get selected (which is very competitive) are earning 3.5s and above in high school and are not cloistering themselves in their rooms all day reading J.R.R. Tolkien novels. These kids have proven leadership positions, are captains of teams at their schools, and are more self aware and situationally aware than greater than half of the 25 year olds in America. One of these pages was the aggressor in the relationship with Foley, the others knew quite well right from wrong. All of them are also briefed, on their first day on the job ($1,344/month), on what action to take if they are subjected to inappropriate behavior. This is hardly a case of children being taken advantage of and being molested.

Heck, the teacher in Florida who had sex with a 13 year old was only given house arrest and I believe she is teaching again...and raking in money from her book deal. Foley resigned his position in congress and most likely will not be writing a book about this.
