Peyton is going to be on the Vols sideline Saturday. Tennessee has never lost with Peyton present in Tuscaloosa

You know how tge announcer will say, "this guy hasn't tgrown an interception in so many attempts", and then he throws one? I hope you didn't just do that to us !

The only good thing about Gary and Verne calling a game is when we actually win it. I know it was painful for Verne to see UT come out with the victory against the pups.

That Auburn streak pisses me off. Several of those games Tennessee had no business losing. Both 08 and 09 were really ugly losses and the 04 SECCG, though it ended up a 10 points loss, was pretty close and could've gone either way.

Good point. Removed. Plus, I don't think we're going to play Arkansas and Ole Miss for several more years anyway, so it's not worth tracking for that reason as well.

You can add in losses to SEC West teams. Last win was against Ole Miss in 2010 I think

Listening to Finebaum this afternoon you would think Bama has a bye week this week the way Bama fans are talking about the LSU game. I hope this attitude is sneaking into the bama locker room.

Added. Sad part about all those losses (9) was the only one of them that wasn't ranked was.......Arkansas this year.

Not sure if this counts but a streak that I found bizarre until I thought about and was like "yeah I guess that's true". The 97/98 Tennessee teams were the last back to back SEC champions.

It sure was fun to watch Peyton and the Volunteers beat them in the 97' SEC Championship game. It was my daughters first Tennessee game. We were sitting in the Auburn end zone surrounded by war Eagles ( or tigers...who knows what they are). And she was shaking that UT pompom the whole night and screaming Go Vols! Great night!!!

The last time I was in Tuscaloosa....... David Palmer was running the wildcat for two to tie us up (before there was a wildcat)....this was after TN held an 8 point lead with a mere 83 seconds remaining. (thanks to a 73 yard run from Charlie Garner early in the 4th)

All Alabama could do was muster a tie (which I admit at the time felt like defeat), even though TN turned the ball over 5 times. They had beaten us 7 times in a row and had won 28 straight ballgames. Alabama would end up having to forfeit every game but their bowl game that year (remember Antonio Langham).

We went on to lose to Alabama in Knoxville the next year in a tight game (17-13) but then we went on a streak of our own (seven wins straight and 9 of the next 10)

I say all that to say this. Streaks and records are meant to be broken. Time is running out for the AL dynasty, they never last forever. Yes, this would be an improbable year to stop their streak against us, but there is a reason they play the games. Maybe we catch several breaks this year and play a great 60 minute game, or maybe it's just not our year (again).

What I know for sure is that if we lose the game, I won't lose ANY sleep. On the other hand...........If AL loses, I will be looking at around 100K Alabama fans that likely won't be able to say the same thing.

Go Vols!

Why were you in Tuscaloosa when the game was in Birmingham?

Last 3-game winning streak...2014-2015
Last 4-game winning streak...2010
Last 5-game winning streak...2007
Seasons since a winning SEC record: 7

Max, looks like you're gonna be able to erase these four streaks from your list in the next 16 days. One game at a time, of course, but looking good so far. :good!:

Go Vols!

this is all you need to see. i've been on record many times talking about how this team becomes relevant, and these 3's prove the point.

we have to make it out of September having beaten FL more than we have (5 times in last 25 years).

streaks aside, beating FL at the very least sets up the rest of the schedule to mean more than hoping they lose and playing catch up.

kind of off topic, sorry, but i saw those #'s and it just stood out. beating FL ends the longest streak, but it means the most to the rest of any season we play since we play them early.

Here's hoping! A bowl win gives us 6 straight!

Furthermore, if we take care of business in all the games before the Florida game next year, we would have won 9 straight.
