The Spike and Botched Illegal Participation Penalty on the spike play (merged)

You have to at least admit the FG should have been kicked from 10 yards further back. The 5yd penalty should have been 15yd since the kicker made it 12 men on the field in the formation.
False.

Referee coordinator expects NCAA to discuss runoff rules - ESPN

David Parry, who oversees college football officiating for the NCAA, said the Big Ten officials handled the confusing final seconds properly.

"The issue that's going to come up is the team that made the mistake by having the illegal substitution ended up getting the benefit from the rule," he said.

NFL rules allow for 10 seconds to be run off the clock on some late-game penalties and Parry said college football might consider adopting a similar rule.

"It was handled correctly, but I do anticipate the rules committee, which meets in the middle of February, to have that on their agenda for discussions," he said.

Well Mr heelzDOpanic, if you can read properly just go back and read this entire post. It Most Definitely proves 12 men on the field aligned to run a QB under center play AND a field goal play. You cant have both, thus IF you don't call that a form of panic, please go back to the round ball forums. Good day.

Of course they are going to back the officiating crew to the media.

Did you really think they were going to publicly blast the crew and say the game was mishandled?

Refs did botch this game. Here's why: official shall give defense an opportunity to substitute if offense subs or attempts to sub. Official should have stood over the ball and given UT opportunity to sub. He did not! He never even stepped toward the ball when it was clear that UNC was substituting. This would have taken a minimum of 3 - 5 seconds to determine if UT was going to sub. GAME OVER
