I was reading on comments on tigerdroppings.com about neyland stadium & they say that next to vandy & uk, neyland is one boring stadiums in the sec. And someone had stated and I quote, "their tailgating sucks" this aggravated me reading this...

I didn't get to go to my first game at neyland
until 2006 so I don't know what it was like back in the day. IMO losing has alot to do with it. I was at the UGA game last season and I was disappointed in the crowd at the start of the game nobody was fired up but as the game went on the crowd picked up a little as we put the dawgs in the back in the pound. On the ride back home I was reflecting on how it use to be a intimidating fortress and now it's like Sunday school on Sunday morning IMO.

How did we come to this? when will it return back to the old hay days? What can we do as fans to help turn things around even though times are tough rite now.... Feel free to comment please

Partial blame goes to day time kickoffs.

LSU rarely has them.

Come to a big night game at UT. Beer + cool weather + big game = rowdy.

12-13 record the last 2 years can do that to a fanbase. We will be back, its gonna take time.
Ask those guys over at tigerdroppings how LSU's tailgating was when they were losing nearly every saturday. Death Vally was just that dead, until Saban gave them new life.

I think its going to turn around, maybe even this year. I feel like this fanbase is at its breaking point and ready to yell at something, may as well make it on saturdays at Neyland!

Once you get inside the stadium, a UT gameday is awesome. But, to be honest...the tailgating isn't all that great in comparison to some of the other places I've been.

There's nothing better than being at a UT game, no matter who the opponent. However, I am not in the position to drive 6 hours and spend $300+ for the weekend, especially when you can catch almost every game in high def at home.

Tailgating in Baton Rouge is off the charts. My wife is a grad of LSU and those people know how to party and cook. I will say that UT is not freaking boring. Not sure what that means. Must have been a UT vs. UAB game

I've had good times at FSU tailgating, they know how to get down. But in no way is gameday at UT boring, I will admit that the in game atmosphere could move up a few notches on the intensity scale though.

I agree totally with your assesment on Baton Rouge. Although Knoxville is not on the same level, it is by no means silent or bad.

I love Tennessee and I've spent several years drinking beer and grilling out before games 1000 yards from the stadium.

That being said, LSU is insane. They start around Wednesday and don't stop until Sunday morning.

The atmosphere is a lot like Mardi Gras. I will say, I've never had better "tailgate" food either.

An LSU fan saying Tennessee is boring isn't really a knock on Tennessee. Everything is going to look boring in comparison to LSU tailgates.

Tailgating at UT is great, it's just not centralized.

I went to oxford with my little sister last season. she & I both were impressed with the grove. It is a great central location on their campus. Where is a central location in Knoxville on campus that we could set up something like that?

Walk down fraternity row towards circle park on game days if you want to see how everyone should tailgate at UT.

I'm saying if everyone was as drunk as they are on game days, we would have one of if not the loudest crowd in the NCAA.
