Ok. Obviously nothing is a given and maybe I'm just looking through my orange colored glasses but...we could be an incredibly explosive offense. Much better than we were last year before bray and hunter went down. I may be wrong but didn't cincy beat nc state last year? I know that doesn't necessarily mean that much but I just really have a feeling this team is going to turn a corner this year. We return so many players and should have the best d line we've had in at least 5 years. We'll see what happens but personally I'm very optimistic.

I am not sure what you consider "rational". UT has more talent. If Dooley can coache then UT should win. NCSU can win... but shouldn't.

UT has been down and certainly didn't run through last year like many hoped.... but NCSU is still a program trying to escape the middle tier of the second worst BCS conference. They lost more players than UT did from a team that went 8-5 with a loss to a horrible BC team. They were pounded by the same Cincy team that UT pounded only a couple of weeks earlier.

No. It is not gimme but it is a game UT should win. I said they should win by two TD's prior to the loss of DR. Now, I am just looking for a win since UT in some sense will be looking for its new offensive identity.

Having taken a look at their roster, I do not believe their D is more talented than UK's was when they beat UT. I think some of you vastly overestimate what it takes to be 41st nationally (14 places behind UT) in total D while playing ACC competition and OOC games vs Liberty (FCS), S Alabama (FCS), Cincy (hammered by a healthy UT team before they hammered NCSU), and Central Michigan (3-9).

They are proud of their secondary which led the nation in INT's. They were 61st in pass D and allowed three more passing TD's than UT.

This is not a shoo in. I think it almost was with DR but he changed things. However it is still a game that UT SHOULD win.

i agree we should win this one, but should don't mean we will. hopefully this team is ready to go.

Question for Fade route... Didnt you predict us to lose to cincy last year? Why is there a love fest with ncstate? They lost more key players than us at important positions.

No. And I don't have a love fest with State. In fact, most analysts agree with me that the game will be close.

Where are all the rational people in the middle. This place seems to have only 2 types of fans: Folks "Walkin' on Sunshine" or looking to "Shoot a man in Reno just to watch him die."

Most analysts think UT is the same team that laid an egg against UK while NCSU is the team that "impressed" with a victory over L'ville.

Lewis looked like a RS any way. UT has concerns at WR with the loss of DR. ZR, JH, and now VD again are the only ones with experience. JH is a #1 WR but is coming off an ACL. ZR is a good but not great player who needs to catch everything that comes close... but doesn't. Dallas was a very good blocker but didn't catch many passes... meaning DB was probably the right call. We don't know how the new comers will do when the lights come on. CP has the hype and the talent but we don't know.

It is no more helpful to deny concerns than to exaggerate them like some here do.

Fb: one player there who isn't very good
Te: one player there due to injuries/off field
Wr: one proven player, one hyped, and every one else is unproven
Lb: outside of starters we have crap. Paper thin
Secondary: a few proven players, mostly unproven though

Yeah, you're right when you say we have depth.

If the run game and Neal are really improved than they don't have the linebsckers or dline to stop us....Uf however is another story.
