The Sky Is Falling!

It would be nice to have a cornerstone QB to build on. But, if you're a hot shot QB, why go here? No one knows how Kiff's offense is going to translate until the Vols take the field, so why commit now? I wouldn't. You can always make even more drama by backing out of your verbal and "open your recruitment back up". Then you can drama queen it up in January too. If the offense stinks it up this season, UT won't get any quality QB recruit, unless the O-line recruits are outstanding. Otherwise, sit tight and keep yer panties on until December. Kiff pulled this years class outta his behind, all he needs is a little production on the field and UT'll get its share of quality recruits.

And on the flip-side you have the likes of Je'ron Stokes, Aubrey Phillips, and Jarvis Giles.
Yeah, look how awful missing on Aubrey Phillips looks right now. He would have lasted 5 minutes here under the new regime. The fact Fulmer considered that lazy slob a building block for the future tells you all you need to know about what a great job of evaluating talent and character the former staff was doing at the end of its tenure.

I haven't cared about following recruiting since a kid I played against in high school had the following path:

-- Starter part-time as a junior in HS
-- Starter full-time as a senior
-- One-star recruit, was looking at 1-AA, D-3 (that's what we do in Ohio), or the MAC
-- Goes to the MAC
-- All-MAC twice during a fairly weak period in conference history, nothing more than that
-- Goes to an NFL camp, is waived, signed by another team to practice squad, promoted to active roster, doesn't dress, demoted back to practice squad
-- Next year, starts year on active roster, demoted back to practice squad
-- Becomes NFL starter next year

And on the flip-side you have the likes of Je'ron Stokes, Aubrey Phillips, and Jarvis Giles.

Gas-Pumper Giles would have been no better than 5th on the depth chart had he come to UT. USCjr is the perfect fit for him.

And it appears that Aubrey Phillips spends more time at Krispy Kreme than he does in the weight room. We didn't miss out on anything there.

And had Fulmer been retained and Stokes come to UT, our future QB would have been his younger brother whose only offer right now is from Central Michigan.

Hat I have to ask you this. Everyone knows your stance on Haystacks and Circus Clown. So I would really like to know what you think about Kiffin. Are you in the wait and see or do already like or dislike him?

I remember a ridiculous amount of hype about this duel threat qb from Nease High School in Florida a couple of years ago. I think he commited to florida. Anyone know what happened to him? another example of this ridiculous recruiting hype that doesn't mean anything i'm sure.

I have 100% confidence in Lane Kiffin and this staff. They are the exact culture shock this stagnant program desperately needed. That said, they're not winning more than 8 games this year. The talent on hand will allow for no more than that. 2011 will be the year that tells the tale.

Totally agree with that and 2010 is gonna be pretty ruff IMO.

Thanks for your opinion.:good!:
