The silence is deafening on coach Jancek

he's proven a lot of people to be full of it. However, he's in a bind Saturday. With Bo playing well and mobile, along with on the road at a top 3 team and an offense that will give little help to us, Ole Miss will be flying all over the field on offense and difficult to stop.
There will be "i told you jancek sucked" stupid threads on here Sunday or "where are all the Jancek sunshine pumping sheep" bs.
Can't wait.

So, you look forward to our upcoming loss?
Dirty damned negavol!

It was entirely reasonable to question Jancek last year just as it is to question Bajakian and Jones now concerning the O.

Last year's D was the second worse in scoring in the history of UT football. Say whatever you want but coaching decisions impacted that result. Talent was a factor. Development was a factor... but so was coaching. Not only have they brought in some talent AND finally gotten some other guys who WERE available last year ready to play.... Jancek appears to have taken a look at some of his own flaws and unsuccessful tendencies.

I am completely willing to give Jancek and Jones MAJOR praise for the results we're seeing this year on D. That does NOT mean that they were not worthy of criticism last year.

Last season's whipping boy for the orange goggled, unrealistic, over the top optimistic in the summertime fan base. This guy has put together quite a defense with pedestrian d tackles. Now, he has some studs in aj,sutton,reeves-maybin, Burnett, and some other guys like McNeal are having career years, but Jancek needs to be applauded more for an outstanding job. Nobody exoected us to be this good on defense. But, what's up with Vereen? Not much in splash plays.

Thank you for this. People tend to be more quick to criticize than praise. Results occur when you have buy-In from all parties, clear on field leadership to hold players accountable, and the talent level to compete.

Jancek has done a great job so far.

Plus Jancek has seemed to do a better job with young talent than Bajakian

Another thing to remember, most of the defensive staff has coached in the SEC before

Offensive staff hasn't. We may be seeing why

What Jancek has that Bajakian doesn't is leadership from guys like AJ and Maggitt on his unit, IMO.

Couple that with the fact our DLine has played so much better than our OLine, it makes Jancek and Co. look even better.

This weekend could be rough. We might not collect 200 yards of offense. D will be on the field all day.

If we had one Tackle from last years OL here this year our offense would look totally different....Tiny would be the AJ of the offense and the OL would play with confidence...not be a mental train wreck like they are now.

We might not have as many sacks, but it would sill be the same offense

Offensive style won't change. We saw the same calls last year with a senior line

We had a better running game, but we still were very conservative and predictable

I beg to differ. New QB with hardly any playing time in a new system starting WRs with little and no experience. Then flip it around with WR with experience and a QB with experience in this offense for one whole season but now with an OL that can't block. Everyone keeps forgetting or just don't want to remember all our offensive production ran away to the NFL that would have been seniors with that OL we had. Bray, Hunter, and CP leave early then Rivera graduated all of which on NFL rosters now.

If you think Baj is not wanting to open up this offense and really start getting jiggy with it you are  but we have the "Friday" syndrome to quote Smokey, "No sugar? Damn. Y'all ain't never got two things that match. Either y'all got Kool-aid, no sugar. Peanut butter, no jelly. Ham, no burger. Daaamn!!!"

So our OC is stuck using the Keep It Simple Stupid approach at this point. It is what it is.

This was a much better OP than your ridiculous Fournette/Hurd comparison OP.

It's hard to judge an OC when he is so hamstrung by the OL. How creative can you be when every 5 or 7 step drop has you covering your eyes. Can't trust the line to do ANYTHING. He's just trying to find a way to manage around the line while still somehow moving the ball.

Maybe he knows the D is much better and is trying to have them make the plays and give some field position? I feel like a lot of the points our D has allowed has been because of turnovers for short fields.

We need to just hold the ball and try to move the chains while avoiding disaster plays. Let the D do its work and keep you in it.

And when he gets McKenzie and Tuttle next year it is going to get even better.

:blink:You're coming across like John Adam's drop-out, cross-eyed brother; wishing for an "I told you so" opportunity. It's possible that this game will turn into a defensive battle and, if not properly prepared, one or more of these rookie UT O linemen might just show some advancement on the learning curve, Wallace might have one of his "bad Bo" days, returning Vols might make a difference or....who knows what(?) and that thud we hear could be Old Missy falling out of the top ten. How long did it take you to come up with the sunshine pumping sheep bit? Negavol, for sure.:bash:

Man. It is going to be nasty. Big John Henderson and Albert Haynesworth would be proud. so who is going to be the "hype" man on d next year when AJ is gone

JRM. However, with Shy and Mac plus an army of high-motored DE's, Cam and company, killin' Dillon, The Berrys and a bunch more hungry hosses,if our boys learn to block on the other side and Dormady or Jennings are up to their own hype, Atlanta could be a December destination in '15. Let's whip up the hype Saturday...for now.

Let's go. I know it's complementary football, but we have to rely heavily on our D to play lights out. This whole team, including me as a fan, flock to this D.

If we had last year's O-line, we'd be 5-1, ranked in the top 15 and probably head to a record of 10-2 and a really nice bowl game. CBJ would get "coach of the year". But alas....
