I posted this on 8/25- but here it is again:

(This is how it was relayed to me )

I’m pretty sure we aren’t getting Kentucky. It doesn’t work if other things are to be protected -
It’s old row and new row and eyeballs- and to most people going back thirty five years UT/UF is a major big time big deal hate fest.

Bama/LSU
Ole Miss/LSU
Florida/LSU

Georgia/Florida
Tennessee/Florida
LSU/Florida

Bama/Auburn
Georgia/Auburn
Ole Miss/Auburn

Florida/Georgia
Auburn/Georgia
South Carolina/Georgia

Tennessee/Bama
Auburn/Bama
LSU/Bama

Miss State/Ole Miss
Auburn/Ole Miss
LSU/Ole Miss

Bama/Tennessee
Vandy/Tennessee
Florida/Tennessee

UGA would seem to have a good draw if this is correct. No Bama, LSU, Ole Miss, Texas, etc. Florida is the only powerhouse - in the past.

Some say bama, Vandy and uk. That’s what I think as well.
others say bama, Vandy and UF. I don’t see it because I think UF gets uga and lsu. I don’t think they will pick us and give them South Carolina instead.
Somebody pointed that out that if Clemson and FSU joined the SEC in a few years it would be easy for Florida to switch to FSU and South Carolina to switch to Clemson. It does make sense . No one is going to have an easy schedule though regardless of who their 3 annual opponents are.

It hs to be Bama, UK, and Vandy. I get we won’t see UK or Vandy as top 3 rival, but who besides us do Vandy and UK actually consider a “rival” in this conference?

I thought the only possible shot we had at keeping Kentucky was the UK administration complaining that they would be the only school not getting a historical/geographical preferred choice.

Pretty much. We are the only school Kentucky fans truly hate in the conference, their only other rival in football is from the ACC in Louisville

Yes I believe UF will get LSU, UGA, South Carolina.

LSU: A&M, UF, Ole Miss

Bama: Tennessee, Auburn, Miss State

Texas: Oklahoma, A&M, Arkansas

A&M: Texas, LSU, Miss State

Miss State: Ole Miss, Bama, A&M

Oklahoma: Texas, Missouri, Arkansas

Arkansas: Texas, Oklahoma, Missouri

Missouri: Arkansas, Oklahoma, Vanderbilt

Kentucky: Tennessee, Vanderbilt, South Carolina

Georgia: Auburn, Florida, South Carolina

South Carolina: Florida, Georgia, Kentucky

Vanderbilt: Tennessee, Missouri, Kentucky

Ole Miss: Miss state, Auburn, LSU

Auburn: Bama, Georgia, Ole Miss

Tennessee: Kentucky, Vandy, Bama

Could swap which Bama school gets what Mississippi school but other than that this makes the most sense imo

We need to play Alabama, Florida, and Georgia every year. I'm not interested in watching games against scrub teams. I want games like this past Saturday where the entire nation is watching.

Not happening. I think some may want the weaker annual opponents and some don’t want to lose the Florida and UGA rivalries (especially since our program is finally competing at a high level again) but it gonna be Bama and the two pushovers. Is what it is. On the bright side you will still play them every other year (Florida and Georgia)

Either way people are gonna over react a bit to these selections probably but a 9 game sec schedule while still having a power 4 OOC game is gonna be a brutal slate for everyone in conference for the most part every single year.

We would get 2 of the 3 worst teams historically. I really hope that we get that schedule, but I have to assume you’re joking to say it’s balanced.
Last I checked, Vandy is currently ranked in the top 20. This isn’t the Vandy of old. Upgraded stadium, new football facility, and a rising star of a head coach who’s an alum and loves the place. They’ll be a solid opponent for the foreseeable future.

Here’s an idea of what Tennessee’s schedule should look like in 2026, based on getting UK as the 3rd permanent and rotating on the schools that we haven’t played in the last 2 years:

Alabama
At Vanderbilt
Kentucky
Texas
At Ole Miss
Auburn
At Texas A&M
Missouri
At South Carolina

Then add a road game at Georgia Tech.

If you look at that schedule and worry about not having enough big time games…
