"The foul for taking helmet off is a live ball foul treated as a dead-ball foul," Bloom wrote in an e-mail Saturday night. "That is, if it happens on a play where time does not expire then the penalty is enforced on the following play. However since the clock ran out on that play, then there is no next play, so there is no penalty to mark off."

Did they respond to the horrible non call on the offside or the other miss calls?

Despite the outcome, two flags should have been thrown.

1 for the BAMA players taking the field and 1 for Cody removing his helmet.

Funny that they didn't comment about the ref who looked like a kid caught with a hand in the cookie jar after he pointed out where the ball was for the BAMA players.

Give it up. Your #1 ranked Tide out field goaled an unranked team. Your concern shouldn't be justifying the refs calls. You should be concerned with how your team is going to win any kind of championship without a passing game. UT's field goal team gift wrapped this one. Bama got out-played and out-coached on offense and defense. Get ready though because after UT upgrades talent wise you're going to look real good in our rear-view mirror.

I am.

With that being said, I don't think we got outcoached in either offense nor defense. Your defense is great, ours is too. We gave up less points than you. Crompton played VERY well and because of that he gave his team a chance to win.

But you did give up more yards...

341 - 256

I'd rather have the win, but I'll take the improvement and hope for the future.

And Congrats to you Birmingham. You've been respectful around here from what I've seen. I hope this rivalry stays close for many years to come (with all close UT wins of course)

I just watched the replay on DVR to see what you were talking about. Never seen that before. What was that guy thinking?

You allowed an inferior, undermanned team to outperform you in every way except for the kicker while receiving some "home cooking" from the refs.

That is the definition of being outcoached.

First&Tenn, I try to be respectful when here but also know that even my presence here after a tough loss appears as gloating so I tried to stay away for most of the evening. Especially when I got a grasp of the atmosphere, I'm a little thick headed and should have picked up on the high emotions.

This is one of my 4-5 favorite TSIO's of all time. I thought it was a helluva game.

I have no idea! With the other terrible calls it looks very suspect.

I really think we witnessed a ref nearly get caught helping out a media darling team.

It would be one thing if he was pointing it out to the officiating crew but the only people that could see it were 2 BAMA players.

If I were CLK, I would have some very pointed questions for Mike Slime about his officiating crew.

You and I disagree that Alabama was outperformed. Don't take Tennessee playing better than expected as also meaning better than the other team. I think our defense outperformed your offense. I think we held you to less points which is the entire point in a competition. I don't care about yrds, I care about points. If you want to make yrds be more important than points than lets refer to Tennessee as the team that won today for the rest of this thread. Either way it won't make it true because your Offense didn't outperform Alabama's Defense nor was Alabama's defense outcoached.

Well, I'm just glad to see a UT/Alabama game that is back to form of the series' history. Of course, it's painful that we lost what would have been one of the great victories in our recent history, but I think that this game will be circled on both teams schedules for a long time.

Our coach got the "W." You can have the imaginary "outcoached award.":dance2:

I never said anything about yards. The #1 defense in the country got marched up and down the field all day by an offense that receives very little respect. Special teams killed us on points made and points allowed by giving BAMA great field position that led to FGs.

We were able to keep your D on the field most of the game and wear them down towards the end. You had no 1st downs in the second half until the last couple of mins of the game!

The #1 RB in the country was held under 100 yards, no tds and 1 fumble and arguably the best WR was held in check. The only offensive success you had was in a one-dimensional formation that we eventually stopped.

All of this was done with key injuries to the OL and D, while already having less talent and depth. It wasn't enough to win but without us outcoaching BAMA this game wouldn't have been close.

The fact is that if we hit any 1 of 3 FGs then the entire country would be raving about how CLK handed it to Saban.

What is this babble? Tenn's offense played on par, if not better than the Tide defense. The only area you guys outplayed us in was special teams. Plain and simple.

nice classiness dude.
the only reason you won is because terrance cody went to one to many buffets.

And even if he didn't, we would have blocked both kicks with the back of one of our lineman's helmets.

Your coach is very nervous about having to face our coaching staff every year and you can take that to the bank.

He's already getting his excuses ready. "We were tired!"

A W is a W but recruits will take notice of who won the coaching battle.

Once again, you are BAMA trash and that alone means that we get a W just for not being associated with the biggest cheaters in the history of NCAA football.

Keep posting Birmingham. You're still undefeated so gloat on. We would do the same thing. I am proud of our Vols, and excited for the future. Enjoy it while you can. I think good things are ahead for the Big Orange. Congrats on the win. I still hate you. :p
