The season rests on Bray and Neal

wouldn't be surprised if some players are quietly discussing a sense of relief.

Acts get old in the locker room, even if you support your teammate.

Sure sounded like Lathers could give a s..t. He's probably thinking what a waste of talent and time.

As a HUGE Peyton Manning fan that has never missed his games, i have learned a lot about QB's. If your QB is good enough and can rally the Offense he can make all his playmakers better. Thats what seperates a Great QB from average QB play. I heard Bray at Media days mention that Zach dosen't get enough credit and that he runs the best routes better than any WR on the team. TIFWIW- but if Zach can do that and hang onto the ball then he's going to be valuable with Hunter and Patterson on the outside. Go Vols!!!

Listen, Bray is great. No doubt about that. But there can be no denying the adverse affect losing Hunter had on the offense last year. I don't think losing Day Rick hurts us as much, but it hurts.

Nc state will lock down hunter and our passing game will depend on CP. I don't care what anyone says there is no way he is ready for this 8 days from now.

What do you mean he isn't ready?

He's a receiver. It's a pretty straightforward job description. Run fast. Catch ball. Keep running.

Is what it is. Still undefeated. Prep em up!

His loss will be felt for sure, but unless the next receivers in line are completely incompetent, it won't affect the offense too terribly.

Hunter and CP will still find ways to get open, and hopefully the third man will simply be able to catch the ball when it's thrown to him.

True, but Hunter is coming off an injury and this is his first game back. CP is an unknown commodity. And Z. Rogers is probably not going to turn into much more than what he's always been (#notimpressed). Just a lot of "ifs" and Da'Rick was the solid guy. We'll be okay, but a win in the opener is so important to this team coming off the UK game, and the timing couldn't suck more.

CP will be great in time, but I don't think that vol nation will give him that. After the first game and CP has an average game he is going to catch all of the frustration from the DR saga. I hope everyone keeps realistic perspective about this team now. We need to stay behind these kids and support the ones that choose to be team players unlike DR. I'm still excited but I'm keeping a level head about this season unlike 12 hours ago when I was telling the guys at work we could beat Bama. Hahaha. It is tough being a vol fan sometimes.

CP is unknown so far as he hasn't played in a game yet. However, every shred of evidence on the kid so far says he's just as good, if not better than, DR and JH. I think if he wasn't living up to expectations it would be known by now. I also think it would take a serious mental breakdown on his part to not be a major threat on offense against NC State or any team we face.

Honestly, I think the best way to approach this season is almost to look at it as if we never landed CP. Everyone would be pumped for the returning duo of JH and DR--well, it's not exactly that, but it's pretty damn close.

They can get better at tennis.

Can offensive linemen who have been starting for two season get appreciably better in their third season? Color me skeptical.

Color you crazy if you think people can't increase their skill set with better coaches and time in anything.

The Oline hasn;t been that bad. You don't put up numbers like Bray did without having decent line.

Jay Graham coming on board has made a huge difference for the backs...just wait. You'll see.:)

right. Going from a teenager to an adult never has a positive affect on mental and physical growth

Bad at run blocking.

I hope you're right.

How bad was the last one?

Bad enough for the Vols to rank almost dead last in the NCAA in rushing?

At a certain point, any change is an upgrade. But fortunately for us, it looks like Pittman is the real deal.
