The Runner's thread

I walked in them for a day. Ran and never looked back. But I was also wearing Nike Frees for a year plus at the time

:good!: I have talked to people that said they tried to run in them straight away and ended up having soreness in their lower legs. Just curious what your experience was. Thanks Yank.

NP. The Nike Free 3s only had a 4mm heel to toe drop so they were pretty much a minimalist shoe

Running with a broken rib will cause it to never heal. I had two broke ribs a couple of years ago from combatives and they had to force me to stop running, but ultimately it was for the best. I wouldn't recommend running for about six weeks from my experience. I thought mine were just bruised until I had them looked at. The doctor even thought they were just bruised. He decided to send me to xrays as I was leaving and BAM! Broke ribs. It was awful. Wouldn't wish that pain on anybody.

I ran in my five fingers right away, but I started with short distances, a mile, two miles, etc. My Achilles tendon was sore for a bit until I got used to minimalist running. It was just growing stronger though.

They can heal when I'm dead.
