The Runner's thread

I would love to get into Cross-Fit but I can't really afford the classes right now to get started. I think Cross-Fit would help my running as far as my times go.

The Golf Shop does some cross advertisement with our gym (large 2 story 24/7 setup) and they have tons of classes to take for many different people. They also have the Crossfit set up outside and run it 3 days a week. If it wasn't for that I wouldn't have done it. I am now hooked.

I am having a hard time eating right on the weekends. I will do fine through the week but then when Saturday hits I eat like hell and drink beer and it kills everything I did during the week.

I heard that. Just have to work a little harder during the week lol.

Crossfit has helped me tremendously. Not just with running, but overall fitness in general and giving me higher than normal PT test scores.

As for surviving the weekends, so far I'm 3 for 3 on going for a long run Saturday morning before making sure I enjoy my football weekends "properly" :).

As long as you are enjoying them properly thats all that matters

Didn't know you were doing crossfit bill! They just listed qualifier workouts for our battle of the box's today...starts wed. I'm getting nervous.

Thought we had discussed it before, maybe it was all a dream. We've incorporated a lot of crossfit into our PT workouts. Box jumps, burpees, wall balls, lifts, pull ups, chin ups, the list goes on, all for time. I'm a huge fan. We also have an actual crossfit gym across from work, so I get out there a couple of times a week after work.

failed going out to run yesterday, although I'd argue that the "wrestling" and playing with my niece and nephew constituted a pretty good workout. Trying to motivate myself to get at least 3 in now, but I should run like 5 or 6.

Going to try and get three in today myself. Last weeks schedule was all messed up so I have to make up for it some how

same reason here. Our orderly/OPs room is losing it (as in literally losing our paperwork all the time), so they've pulled me up there to help out since I'm one of the few competent ones with paperwork. You'd think a company full of Signal Corps soldiers would be much better with paperwork stuff, but alas, we're not. My hours are completely different now and it's been a hard adjustment so far.

on a different note, has anyone else that uses the NIKE+ GPS Sportswatch had difficulty lately? It's about a 50/50 shot lately that the watch will link up with the sensors for me.

Went out and ran 7 miles today and it felt great!! Didn't time myself because I didn't want to push my pace while I'm working on building my leg strength without shin splints but it was right at an hour total.

Life has gotten in the way this week and haven't been able to run. I am hoping to be able to run tonight. I am feeling like doo doo!!

3 miles last night in just over 22 mins. Afterwards I ran some sprints and stadiums. Man if felt good last night but I am paying for it this morning. Hoping to repeat it today after work.

Picked up some orange Lunarglide 4s for the race next weekend. Very light and cushioned. Will see how stable they are when i hit the streets tomorrow.
