The Runner's thread

Take two to three days off in a row, make sure you're getting plenty of potassium and I'd take some glutamine to help in recovery. Take it after runs. I recommend the powder over the pills, but that's just me. If you still struggle with fatigue after three days off (with lots of stretching during), something might be more serious.

Like??

Worst time I've ran.....2:02:57

I was hurting

First off, that is still a really good time. Nashville is Brutal due to the hills.

Did you see the guy that collapsed with about 1/2 a mile left? That had to suck. I think someone said they didn't let him finish.

I saw 4 people in the last mile that had ambulances called

The hills weren't the problem, Columbia is as just as hilly. I was good until about mile 7. Just an off day running

Ran my first 5K since my Junior year in HS today. Unofficial time of 20:10 (only 8 seconds slower than my previous pr). Waiting for KTC to post the official times. Still, not too bad for only about a month and a half of steady training with only one speed work out. Very happy with the result.

Edit: Official chip time of 20:06!

A thank you to all those that cheered on runners at the Country Music Half Marathon. And a special volnation thank you to the Vol fan in the UT football jersey with the sign that said "Chuck Norris runs from you".

Girlfriend running in the key biscayne half marathon at the moment. She's shooting for 2:20. Pouring down rain, feel terrible for her.

10 miles in the heat of the day today...will not make that mistake again! Never been an early-workout-kind-of-guy, but if I'm going to keep running this summer, I'll be doing it first thing in the a.m.

That's great. How can the chip and clock time be off so much?

They release you by corrals. So if you are in corral number 1 they let you go. Once the first corral goes the clock starts. Then they wait about a minute and release corral #2, and so on.

I ended up leaving with corral 11 even though I was supposed to be in 7 because I was waiting on a friend.
