The Runner's thread

I listen to mostly rock music cause that's about the only thing I listen to anyways but for some reason when I run it's really the only music that modivates me. I listen to some older country for relaxing but it does nothing for me when I am running.

I meant once you completed your training. :) Lot of people think you have to be fast to race but it's really just a social event before and after with a personal test in between.

Volly it is always best to run in races before your planned event. It definitely helps you prepare for your race.

Also, I would suggest having something that can tell you your pace if possible. This can help you pace yourself on race day. You will be tempted to go at everyone else's pace. Don't stay at your own.

For the record, Tri's the one that wants me to do it. I think he's tryin' to get me hurt. :p

Seriously though, I'm an extremely competitive person. It would be extremely hard for me to not keep up with someone I knew. Learned that the hard way. :)

It's hard but I would suggest fighting and keeping at your own pace.

Slow day for work tomorrow. Might do 13.1 miles tomorrow

I would never do that. :whistling: I know how competitive yet friendly you are. Think you would have a blast.

The great thing about road races is that there is always someone slower than you are...and probably dressed nicer.

It was 28º here this morning and I did my run.

(does it matter that it was on a treadmill in my loft?)
