I thought the fitbit might be more accurate because of where the phone was picking up the distances at.

I tried googling where I found/read about that but couldn't.

I got to come home to the Tri Cities for the weekend and was hoping to get one more run in today before going back, but I didn't pack running gear for 14 degree temps. Saturday I did run the Tweetsie Trail and it's a cool little course. Recommend it to anyone in the area.

14 degrees is a little cold.

The trail you are talking about is in the Tri-Cities area?

I have used Runkeeper in the past (about a year ago) and didn't seem to have any issues with the distances reported but had a friend tell me this weekend that he did not think Runkeeper was accurate on his last couple runs and was looking for advice on a GPS watch. I don't know if there is anything behind this or not but it is interesting that you both have had issues with it recently.

Any opinions on Asics Gel-nimbus?

I am looking for something with a little more cushioning at least for my longer runs and I have seen the 17's prices have reduced recently.

Runkeeper works fine as long as you are running and a straight line or a loop run with no turn arounds. Its when you start turning around or going in and out of cul-de sacs is when you start having problems.

I haven't ever used Asics. I am partial to my Brooks Adrenaline GTS. Seem to have plenty of cushion for me.

Never worn them, but there is a reason there have been 18 models. They almost always and universally get rave reviews if your feet are right for them.

3.1 with some hills last night in 23 degree weather. Once I got into the run it wasn't so bad... as long as the wind wasn't blowing. The wind would cut right through you.

I have had multiple pairs of the Gel Tri Noosas. Not my favorite pair of shoes (Brooks Pureflow), but not a bad shoe at all.

Thanks for the feedback all.

I run in Brooks Ghost 7 now. I have also run in the Pureflow and have had a couple older pairs of Ghosts. I like them but as mileage goes up I feel like I could use a little more shoe to help with the impact and what better time to try a new high dollar shoe than when you can get it at a more reasonable price.

5.6 miles in Ft Pierce, Fl today. We are staying at the city Marina until March 1, so I carved out a route from the Marina, over the A1A bridge over the Indian River, and to the beach and back. The run back over the bridge a second time is a little demanding for me.

6 last night at 8:20 pace. A little slower average pace than I have been for this distance. Not sure why I was slower. Felt good through out and never struggled.
