This thread is dedicated to painting the rock on campus. Anybody can paint it and post pics on here, but we are trying to setup an organized way of getting this completed for recruit visits, new team members, graduating team members, big games, etc.

It's basically the idea that an organized group of fans can get together and support our sports programs on campus through painting the rock (a giant rock on campus dedicated to expressing ideas) where everyone can see them.*

There has been some really great feedback in the past from recruits, early enrollees, parents of student-athletes, and media.

This thread is where we will post pictures of the rock when it's painted and discuss what to paint on it, as well as organizing groups with supplies and the means to paint the rock!*

Anyone who is interested, join us and bring some paint if you have it. If ure not artistic, it's all good, just plan to get messy.

If you feel like you can contribute, IN ANY WAY:eek:k:, check out our blog as well! GO VOLS!

Paint the Rock!

I would really like to get a SUPPLIES Paypal Acct. going but I need for Freak or one of the higher ups to tell me that it's ok or not ok.

Also, anyone comfortable with donations/charity laws, what are the things that need to be done when ppl donate money? Is there anything we need to do on the legal side?

I dont even need access to said acct, but would need someone responsible to use it for supplies only and drop them off when we paint. We have had a lot of interest in donations to get the rock painted for Recruit visits, Big Games, etc.

With the right supplies (i.e. brushes, nice spray paint, stencils, etc) we could really make it look good, instead of sloppy as seen above.

MzTerry had some really nice things to say about the Recruit Rock we did this weekend, which to me, makes it all worth it and a great idea.

I am willing to take the lead on this, or a Mod can do it. VolsFan18 and Ertel have been extremely helpful as well in painting and supplies.

We have gotten a lot of interest on this topic. Just asking for more exposure from the site.

Thanks, Jake

Don't make it a big deal and it won't be one. I owe you $5 for lunch anyway, remember? So just tell me where to send what I owe you.

Am I being called a troll here?

Well, if you dont think that the rock has an impact on recruiting and these kids, then yes.

Jason Croom's mom (MzTerry) said how much it meant to all of them to see that they had support from the local fanbase and Alden Hill and Justin Meredith both posted pics on their facebooks of this rock because they were excited to be named on it.

That's enough for me.
