I remember when that Pantera album came out. I went to East Town mall (when it was safe) and went to Camelot I think it was called. They had listening stations with headphones where you could listen to new releases. I was browsing their decent metal section and this little black kid kept yelling like he was super excited and shocked at the same time. Found my Pantera CD and as I was walking by the kid I saw he was listening to the new Pantera and kept repeating the beginning of The Great Southern Trendkill. Too funny.

Was the first Pantera album I owned; arguably their most brutal. Funny story related:
I worked at a Christian coffee house in college; back around the time mp3's were just getting big and Napster was all the jam.
The owner setup a cyber cafe and we'd play easy listening music for patrons during lunch... I hated most of the stuff Jim played, but there was one song in particular that REALLY got under my skin. Of course, this was Jim's favorite song. (I don't remember the exact artist but think "Indigo Girls" music...)
One day, I'd had enough of this song and decided to take action. I downloaded track 1 of The Great Southern Trendkill, the one that starts off with Phil going from 1 to 11.... "ughAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH"!!!
I deleted Jim's garbage and renamed GSTK to the offending song's name. My trap was set :naughty:
It went off right in the middle of the lunch crowd the next day; old stuffy businessmen and women getting a double dose of Pantera - much to the horror of my boss
I denied any involvment but everyone who worked there knew it was me
