The Rock/Metal Thread

I really liked DYK's first release. Looking forward to the new release. I like him better as Killswitch's lead than the original.

I liked The Beauty of Destruction too. Not the best I've ever heard, not even the best I'd heard from Howard, but it was solid.

Really like the singles from this new album, They Bleed Red, so far.

haven't watched the unedited version of the video you posted, but heard it was quite something to behold.

Ghost were on The Late Show. Never thought I'd see the day they'd be on network television, haha.

Howard kills covers. Holy Diver back in the day was 👌🏼

Ghost on The Late Show isn't shocking since it was for Halloween or whatever. I'm also positive they told them no songs with direct satanist type translation. Since they were promoting the new album Cirice was the only logical choice.

I remember back in the day Kimmel had Asking Alexandria perform 3 songs. I thought that was awesome.

Some bigger bands like Korn and Mastodon do stuff like that a lot. I think Korn has done Kimmel (? Or one show I don't remember) for every album they've promoted over the last decade or so.

I like when shows do the "risky" option like Asking Alexandria, Ghost, or even Letterman let a young Tyler, The Creator (who my username is named after) on. His wary lyrics were about rebellion and doing bad things. Eff school do whatever you want, do drugs, etc etc. I hate seeing pop bands I've never heard of (nobody has ever heard of) doing songs you'll never hear again. Might as well hit a niche of some sort.

Tool is coming to Nashville in January.
Yup they are coming to Southaven too. Tool is one of those bands you don't miss when they are playing live near you. I have never missed any of their Memphis or Nashville show. You have not lived till you seen them live.

My favorite song from one of my favorite bands

The Ghost Inside was involved in a fatal accident yesterday on their tour bus. The bus driver and the driver of the other vehicle are dead and the band is in the hospital, some in critical condition. So if you pray I'm sure the band would appreciate that or leave them some encouraging words on social media. There's also a go fund me about to reach its goal of 40k out there. Shouts out to Bring Me The Horizon dropping 10k to help their friends out. If you haven't heard of the band, they are semi-popular and signed to the same record label as Parkway Drive. Here's their most famous song.

Had to re-rip my CD collection..came across a Therion album I forgot. It has some awesomeness from Dan Swano (Edge of Sanity), but I have always loved their obscure Scorpions cover of Fly to the Rainbow. Enjoy.

and the Scorpions version to compare (theirs is pretty damn good)

That's awesome. I took my wife before we were engaged to Enslaved/Opeth in Knoxville. She's very religious and not at all into the music, but she out on a smile and made the best of it. I think most girls would have dismissed me as a weirdo and bailed.

Never seen Opeth but I gave up on them back in the 90's. Saw Enslaved last year, they were great.

Lost my hard drive with all my MP3's..slowly burning about 1000 CD's back to the old puter..Finding some bands I haven't listened to in a while.

Opeth put on a great show, but I can see how people aren't fond of them. I've seen Enslaved twice and enjoyed them both times. I caught Windir the first time I saw Enslaved and was blown away by them.

Have you ever listened to Sepultura's first album, Morbid Tales or whatever it is? I swear that's the first black metal album ever recorded and is completely ignored because it isn't Scandanavian.
