The Rock/Metal Thread

Bring Me The Horizon's new album leaked the other day.

Tried to give it a chance, but it's really just hot garbage. Can't believe they changed their sound that much.
Their new stuff has been hit or miss for me. Loved sempiternal for its alternative approach but still used their sound, but this new stuff is basically hard rock. Going back and listening to a song like Chelsea Smile and then listening to Drown and you just wonder why.

I will say I don't hate their new stuff it's just not the same. I know Oli has had throat problems from improper technique/warmup earlier in his career but he can still do it because if you see a show he still does. At least he didn't go full Danny Worsnop yet

Saw them at the Tabernacle last year. Glad I did, because I feel like that's the last true BMTH show I'll ever see.

As for Danny.. Yeah. I didn't listen to anything after Reckless & Relentless. Didn't even know they broke up until I just looked them up.

I may see BMTH in October if I do I will let you know what it's like. I've heard their live performances now are diverse in playing the old stuff and style and the new stuff so it may still be cool. Danny's new band "We Are Harlot" will also be there but I'm going to avoid that stage lol. He's got a great voice and that band actually works with what they want to be, just not my style of tunes.

Asking is still a band with a new singer who was actually good live (I caught a glimpse of them earlier in the year) but their new music so far has been lame to me. Hopefully the whole album is good. Ben, the guitarist has always written the music so hopefully it goes back to Stand Up and Scream style. Ben said the last two albums Danny rejected way more songs than he agreed to sing on so it was hard to write. Danny wanted to go more softer A7X and Ben and the rest of the band wanted heavier electronicore type of stuff. Danny at live shows sang the songs almost without screaming at all (even on songs where it was mostly screams like A Prophecy) since like 2013.

I'll never forget being 15 and all the scene girls went through the "I'm a whore" phase just because of Not The American Average.

I was around 13-14 when SUAS came out and was huge. I remember that too 😂 The first time a saw one of their vids was probably when I starting liking that type of music honestly. Shoutout to early days AA

I freaking love the Riffs in this song. I got to give Slipknot major dues. In sixteen years I have never disliked any album they made. Add to that they always put on a wild and insane live show. Some of the craziest pits I've ever been in was at Slipknot shows.

Another of my favorite bands. RIP Pete Steele, he was a hell of a singer and song writer.

I was lucky enough to meet Devin Townsend and catch a SYL show years ago. They were so much better live than on their albums.

Parkway Drive.

They usually have some good songs. There are better on the new album but here is a video.

One of my favorites songs from my favorite band. Tool is simply in their on league and has never gotten the respect they deserved.

I know this falls more under Punk but this was one of the first songs that turned me onto Rock.

Almost a pseudo Mike Patton clone

Was so glad to see J-Mann back for The Righteous & The Butterfly.

I liked Pitch Black Forecast a lot too. Wonder if he'll continue that venture.
