You do realize he will need to lose more games to get fired.

Why would you love that?

They're setting themselves up for disappointment. He won't be fired after this year.

You could tell by Curries statement he wants stability and a clean run program. He has both.

Wait, what has McElwain done? You're saying you want him??? Florida is terrible, and I wouldnt want their leftovers :pilot:

2 years at Florida he's won the east twice and SEC coach of the year once. Seems you don't understand football any more than Butch does?

You couldn't tell anything by Curries statement.

His statement was releasing a statement. The actual words were politician speak.

Any coward can paint a rock in the dark.

Johnny Majors, 25 years ago: "It doesn’t take a lot of guts to go out and do something in the darkness – paint a rock. It doesn’t take much ingenuity…. There is the Legions of the Miserable sometimes that are always going to be miserable. You don’t let those affect how you approach your team."

And as someone pointed out in a different thread, Majors wouldn't have lasted as long as Jones if he were hired in today's world of SEC football

Bet he does when the whole legion stays home on Saturdays.

Cracks me up when coaches act like what the fan base thinks doesn't matter.

He was being Politically Correct before that was even invented.

He inspired me.

Coward = not a lot of guts.

The issue is there are many that wanted him fired immediately after the loss(And before. I get it.).

Voicing it out loud is poison to the team and program.

Anytime a team loses by Hail Mary the initial gut reflex is to burn it to the ground and start over. Sometimes that's the answer. Too much season left to write off 121. As long as they keep buying what CBJ is selling and show it by giving their all on the field, I can dig it. At some point everyone understands it's time to move on.

Now is not the time.

We lost to Fl because we performed poorly for most of the game.

Back in HS we would watch the film together and make fun of the mistakes made by everybody as if it was a comedy. This happened win or lose. While etching a loss hard feels were shown. We'd go try to beat the heck out of those we thought played a bigger role in the loss.

Who ever it was that had the deep middle of the field(I've heard we were playing Deep 1/4's), Bull in the ring time.

Tn's "give all" mentality is the cause of all this. It's hard to play assignment football when it's been pounded into you to swarm to the ball. It has paid off time and time again. How do you tell guys not to be ball hawks and come to the ball with fury.

We should have sacked their QB. From the looks of it, they held to prevent us.

We played man against Ga last year, that was a bust. We played zone against Fl, that was a bust. Back to the drawing board.

I don't think our players make the best of their free time. I've heard a coach tell them to watch film with their free time.

Do you feel Butch should be fired? i.e that he's shown that he's topped out?

If not, he doesn't need to be fired (in your mind).

If so, then why delay it and get in line behind the LONG list of schools that will be competing for top named coaches.

Thanks for proving my point.:)

Yea, really hurting us ranked 5th in the nation.

You didn't follow. The word "coach" was a giveaway. The players coming in will be much better off with a different coach actually coaching them. Butch focuses on life championships while other coaches actually want to win games.

Does anyone really believe the players don't know that the coaching decisions that are made are not stupid. They do not play blindly, they understand football!

Butch has put himself onto that path. Butch isn't beating Georgia, Bama, LSU. The sooner you accept that, the better off you'll be. Butch is trash on gameday. My attitude on butch has nothing to do with Tennessee, only with Butch. I still want Tennessee to win every game. I'm just smart enough to realize that an idiot coach that runs shotgun from the 6 inch line is in over his head. The losses are coming. Butch will be gone in 18 months or less.

All this is doing is hurting the program. AD will get rid of Butch when it is a good time. We run him off with stuff like this and we will be stuck taking what we can get, like Dooly

Uh.....YES he would at Tennessee because he came here after actually WINNING SOMETHING--like, say, the National Championship at Pitt!

Just what has CBJ won??
