Not to be a jerk, but unless you've experienced minor league baseball first hand you have no idea what type of an adjustment Kelly is going through. Here are a few facts for any concerned:
Lowell is the Reds Short Season affiliate not an Advanced Level A team. Dayton is Low A and Sarasota is High A, where former Vol Sean Watson started last year. In reference to whether or not he flops this year, understand the investment the Reds have made in him >$1 mil.
The transition from metal to wood, the transition from kid to adult, the transition from mom and dad to life on a bus is nothing to sneeze at. The soonest we'd see him (if he were to fizzle out) would be another 3 years from now.
Oh yeah, and if he can't hit, they'll put him on the mound. He topped out at 95mph as a high school senior.
