If LWS is throwing his name around, then it's less of a stretch. I still have a hard time wrapping my head around moving on before the ink has even dried on your contract.

his coordinator did, Roof was there no time and left for PSU

Ansley has a prety high buyout, considering he just secured it. I would think Heart would stand off with a hire that requires more than 2yr buyout .. plus 3 yr contract needed to secure the hire. I think it will likely be someone not working, or with a contract renewal close for the lb, or db coach.

The TE/ST hire I could see paying out a substantial amount, to sure up the offense. TE is the position that is going to sell recruits wanting to make a big splash in the NFL.
If we had a big name NFL TE coach .. we could land Beckham as a premiere TE. I know he is a WR, but I see him landing in the NFL as a TE. He needs someone to sell him on that. Next year we are going to be after TE talent like krazy.

IMO... I see them going after a LB/ST and a TE/ST. One comming up with the ST game plan, and both coaching them. Our ST needs that much work. We have our recruiting coaches on D. I think the biggest consideration is coaching ability for the D hire. For the TE opening... need a big name there to sell Pass Happy U to these kids. Then follw through on bringing in the kids the NFL wants for TE positions.

Our TE not pulling LB out of run coverage and missing blocks is also one of the reasons the run game was not there.

Joseph will coach the spot he wants too..

Just to spell it out, I'm guessing this means coach in title only. His main job will be recruiting. When he's not doing that, he'll be getting CSS's coffee.

This one is a tip per Larry....Derrick Ansley. He was one of Sal's guys at Alabama.

Player Bio: Derrick Ansley - UCF Knights - Official Athletics Site

Derrick Ansley joined the UCF staff as the defensive backs coach in December of 2011. Ansley is coming off two seasons as an assistant with the secondary at the University of Alabama.

In 2010, Alabama finished 10-3, capped off by a 49-7 thumping of Michigan State in the Capital One Bowl. The Crimson Tide ranked 13th in the nation in passing defense, as well as third in scoring defense and fifth in total defense.

In 2011 (as of Dec. 14), Alabama claims first in the country in all five major defensive categories: passing, passing efficiency, rushing, total and scoring. With an 11-1 record, it is busy preparing for the BCS National Championship Game where it will face LSU Jan. 9. In the secondary this year, Alabama's Mark Barron, Dre Kirkpatrick and DeQuan Menzie have all been named All-Americans.

Ansley coached defensive backs for five seasons at Huntingdon College, and competed at the collegiate level for Troy University. He started 40-consecutive games for the Trojans, and finished fifth in the nation with nine interceptions as a junior.

Graduating with a bachelor's degree in broadcast journalism from Troy in 2005, Ansley is working on his master's in human environmental sciences from Alabama. He is a native of Tallassee, Ala., and is married to Alaea Ansley.

Leave Bama for UCF? If Saban thought highly of him, he probably woulda stayed put. I assume Saban had a feeling after the BCS game that coaches were gonna get offers and spots on the staff would open up. Why wouldn't Ansley want to see the season conclude in the BCS title game. Was the offer on a time clock....did UCF give him a take it now or leave it offer? Was that all he could get and staying at Bama was not an option? I dunno but I don't think he would be a step up from Terry Joseph.

If Derrick Ansley does indeed come to TN...then him and Sal really know whats up...that Kirby Smart WILL BE our head coach. And I mean soon.
You dont get hired, quit, and then accept a position where "the company" may go under.

This makes no sense. Nobody hires assistants for the next coach. If there is a next coach these guys will be looking for work as well.

don't see that. I'll be extremely surprised if TJ is not coaching spots in defensive backfield..

Good call on this one JH.

Larry had it sniffed out back a couple of weeks ago. I like Coach Ansley. More of the Bama knowledge to draw from.

Derek has put together a much better staff on this second go around. Now we just need to get out there and kick some gator butt! I cannot wait until September!!!

Hahaha! Do you really think it was Dooley's connections? I'm pretty sure HART had to be all over the Bama hires.

Hart had as much to do with at as an AD normally does. Own up to the fact that Dooley may not be so bad afterall; I have and life is a whole lot better.
