I watched the game again today and I really believe it had something to do with those white gloves blending into our jerseys. I think it was just not as obvious in "real time" as it would've been if a white glove was grabbing an orange jersey. I just cannot believe they missed all those PI calls intentionally when they were calling them the other way.

I hope Butch follows protocol and sends an hour of media tape from the game pointing out the no calls on TAM and ridiculous calls on the Vols. TAM were shown holding/mugging Malone on half of his drops and a couple of Jennings and others. CBS re-ran the out of bounds run play early in the game over and over with no call. I guess too many SEC west fans in the Birmingham office watching replays. We have to beat our opponents and the referees, ridiculous. Barnett was held repeatedly. I don't like to blame our mistakes, turnovers in this game, on refs, but it has been over the top this year.

Could be. I'm convinced the coaching staff should be taking a hard look at how to make holding and PI calls obvious to even the most blind. Whether tear away jerseys or other uniform mods might help. An entire game with no holding calls - pretty amazing.

I'd love to be a fly on the wall when AL analyzes game film in preparation for us and then A&M. Got a feeling there might be some real insight into the officiating - people who critically evaluate things in their field tend to be sticklers about all factors make things work or fail.

Which whistle - on the field or in the stands? Some A&M "traditions" are apparently somewhat fraudulent when examined more closely. Official signals that aren't official tend to blur the context of when a play is over.

I was at the game. Something I noticed, and it may not have made it on TV. There were a couple of plays in the 4th quarter - two back to back and I can't remember the time on the clock... it was between 4:00 and 2:00 left in the game. Our reciever caught a pass and went out of bounds on the A&M sideline. Clock continued to run. Next play (I think) was an incomplete pass and the clock kept running.

Turns out, we needed the clock to run down, but it was frustrating watching it. Clock was really messed up in the 4th quarter. I know they announced the play clock was being kept on the field, but the game clock is what I was watching it wasn't being kept on the field.

Anybody else notice this?

I did. There was a third down reception by Croom in which he extended the ball to the marker as he was forced out of bounds by the defender. The clock never stopped nor was there a measurement or review of the spot. Kamara scored on the ensuing 4th and 1 but the handling of the play was atrocious.

JRM hit a guy trying to field a punt. The hit on Berry was after he had caught it and established himself as a "runner". I still think that one should be called, but it doesn't meet the "defenseless" qualification of targeting.

At some point during the game there was a closeup of the helmet to facemask hit. It was very clear - not this version which is all you can find now. You could see Berry's head deflect up and back with the hit. But a another question - after the hit by #12 - when can you take a helmet off on the field of play without being called?

Then when he was hit, and during the entire time the targetting penalty was being reviewed, he was waving "bye" to Warrior. Seems like unsportsmanlike conduct to me.
Besides all of that, why in the world was that safety not reviewed at all? He clearly went back into the endzone on his own, and then was tackled, by definition, a safety. If that was called, we would've never went to overtime.

On top of that, the diving interception by TKjr that was overturned. I don't doubt that it hit the ground, but considering it was called an interception, unless there was another angle that we weren't given, there's no what you could tell if it hit his hands or the ground, not sure how you could overturn that.

Let's take care of business this weekend, hope they beat Bama and get some revenge.

I will have to watch again. I was at the game, texting a buddy. I thought surely, the ever so knowledgeable Gary Danielson would have spotted it. My buddy watching at home said that after that play, the clock wasn't shown on the screen, so only those in the stadium would have noticed.

I also think the same thing happened on the play after that.

Could be easy to check with a stopwatch and TV replay.. Not that it matters now, but that, to me, is grounds for a legitimate complaint against this officiating crew.

It was on the telecast actually. By that point in the game it seemed like it should have been expected, unfortunately.

I said the same thing. The timing rules changed last year to speed up the game. The clock restarts when the ball is set until the clock hits 2 minutes. I did not learn this until Sunday, when I was griping about the clock continuing to run.

Thought this was one of the worst ref games I have ever seen. Dobbs first so-called fumble looked like an incomplete pass to me, and berry was targeting. I have some images but not sure how to post.
