Step 2. Train them to be Navy Seal Green Beret Combat Weather Airborne DEVGRU DEA SOD GROM CIA SAD Ninjas.

Step 3. Insert them via torpedoes from a submarine

Step 4. Assassinate some guy named Kim

Step 5.

Politics aside, fact is there is no good option. Do nothing and he continues to develop better nukes and missiles. Japan at some point has to up the ante, itself, defensively, adding to hair trigger tensions. Attack and you risk a truly awful outcome, and if you don't succeed in immediately decapitating the regime and they hammer Seoul and kill 50,000 people, then you get blamed for that.

Getting into NK would really spread us thin w/ four separate theaters in Asia, Iraq/Syria, Ukraine, Afghanistan, and NK. Too much. Need some sort of outside the box solution -- too bad I don't know what it is.

Fat Kim is certainly pushing it to the limit..... they think no one will do anything with China being their neighbor..... I guarantee you China could put a stop to his behavior by publicly announcing they won't intervene

Perhaps Japan recognized this one wasn't a threat and didn't want to show their hand? Who knows.

I will say that while Japan and the new leadership in S Korea have decided to favor the dove/"strategic patience" model this type stuff is likely to turn them hawkish.

The little turd keeps launching missiles, but they never hit anything. If China or Russia did the same thing it would be Armageddon by now. He has to know that if he ever hits any country with his WWII missiles, it's over for him and his country.
I say let the little boy play with his toys and if he screws up, rain hell on him.

Please go back and read my post (slowly this time). I don't and have never advocated for war in Korea. I simply stated that since Trump made his bold threats a few weeks ago his hand has been called several times. Trump talks and acts more like a Kim progeny than a US President.

So again, what's next?
