How many like the Black Jersey's

Here are my observations for what they are worth.
1. I am older and a donor and loved the black. I both loved and predicted the black.
2. Love swiper boys version of Eric Berry.
3. Virginia donor - please just take your ball and go home. Go root for Virginia if you hate everything about this staff and what they are doing.
4. Hyams is a total tool and passed on the stories about singing Rocky Top all night long after beating Fl and other private messages by Coach Kiffin designed only for the fan and doner base. Didn't know he was lez but did think that of the recruiting reporter for the paper.
5. You can check my threads but on Thursday I deduced the we were wearing the black. I spent a couple of hours touring UT facilities with a client and someone from developement. I asked the development guy if we were wearing black and he said that MH has told him no and MH swears we are not going to wear black. I saw Frazier but did not think to ask him. I am certain that he would have said no as well. We ran across a manager who I asked where was he hiding the black jerseys and he said " My official response is that I know nothing about any black jerseys." From that I deduced we were likely going to be wearing black jerseys. Later there was a tremenous amount of buzz about the black jerseys and I knew it would be pure genious for pr and for recruiting.
6. All the players, all their girlfriends, their friends, family, probably most of the student body and finally even Heather Harrington knew that we were wearing black. Any good reporter knows you have to sometimes check outside the official channels if you want to break a story. I found out without really trying. Shame on Hyams for a weak effort at sourcing out a story.

we have a winner

The helmets didn't match at all. It was a cool thing to do for Halloween though..not something I'd like to see every week or anything. Every year we play a game on Halloween shouldn't cause too many people to stroke out, should it?

Very nice. Thank you. I'm diggin' the 2nd black uni...bring it back.

:)

We stick more in and break more off, than any other man in any other land.

I think they could be more well done/planned... but it sure was awesome at Neyland. Like.

Color me shocked. I thought the overwhelming majority on here were very much against the idea and then having seen them, I was confident in hearing a majority disapproval. I wonder if the game had gone differently, would they have been accepted so warmly?

I watched with a UT fan myself and we both agreed that the white pants, instead of the orange would've looked a good deal better.

Speaking of jerseys, Tennessee in the all black was about the ugliest thing I have ever seen. That shade of orange could only be loved by Drivers Ed teachers and members of the UT family, but throwing black with them made the team look like giant Reese’s Peanut Butter cups. Maybe their plan was to make Stephen Garcia hungry.

I HAVE TO TOTALLY DISAGREE WITH THIS NONSENSE!

Agreed. If we had lost, the black jerseys would not have gone over well. I liked it because it was the only opportunity to wear black jerseys for a while to come (a home game on Halloween doesn't happen very often). It was fitting that we played on Halloween in Neyland during Kiffin's first year. He's always one to spice things up, to say the least.

Idiots. They weren't in all black.

I love the traditional jerseys, but at the same time, I liked these for the novelty and excitement they brought to this particular game. I think they could stand to come up with a little bit of a better combination if they decide to do black again someday, but I also wouldn't want to see it used more than once a year. Doesn't always have to be Halloween, but just to get players and fans pumped up for a big or special game. But if you do it too much, it's no longer special, just one of the options.

Stick with orange 98% of the time, but if they want to come out in black every now and then, I'm in favor of it.

i liked em, but i dont want to see em every week. i still like seeing the white and orange at the beggining of every season

Reese's Cups wrappers are orange trimmed in yellow and brown anyway.

agree with the above... I can't believe this is at 77% like. Blackouts only make sense when... well black is one of the colors in the school's team colors. I thought the uniforms were hideous and looked very tacked on.

After the heartbreaking loss to bama this was just what the team needed to get the energy up and I think had they gone with the standard unis they might have played flat. You could tell the team responded well to the jerseys so in my opinion it doesn't matter what the fans think about the jerseys the kids on the field got fired up and got the job done.

I voted other. Our colors are orange and white. However, as CLK said, the players have been asking to wear the black jerseys, and it was Halloween night. I'm fine with it under those circumstances, as long as it doesn't become a common thing. I thought they looked pretty cool. It would have been better with black pants and black helmets with an orange T.

Hey what kind of players/recruits are we getting? Obviously the same as Georgia. Why does the Alabama, Florida, Texas, etc. players/recruits not want black? If they want something they are suppose to get it? Ain't that right? Who runs the show anyway? Can you see Berry or Hardesty calling Kiffin into thier office with a player demand? Is there a take over coming? We can have a weekly program with player demands. And was playing the awful Rap (can't call it music) at practice...was it one of the player demands? Kiffin surely can't stand it, and I know his father hates it. Must have been a player demand. What will be the player demand for Memphis, Ole Miss?

I just find it hilarious that a lot of people who are for or against the jerseys are as polarized as a Democrat and a Republican talking about abortion. I don't think they were "the best thing to ever happen." It also isn't an affront to tradition. We WERE wearing our school colors... with a different shirt. Everyone knew that was Tennessee out there. I kind of like the uniforms because it was fun to see. It isn't like we changed our standard uniforms for anything but Halloween.

The uniforms did not win the game or come even close to doing that. BUT, I do believe that the team is taking on the personality of its coach. The uniforms were just a reflection of that. It is Tennessee, but a little bit different. They are having fun and coming together as a group and playing better for it. In the last three games this team has just been awesome. My post might sound like I am pro-black uniform, but I really don't care if I ever see them again. I do think it is an expression of how our coach relates to the players on the team. It was Halloween. We wore black. So what?

What was the harm in wearing a black uniform jersey when the only possible negative side effect was pissing YOU off? If your post is any indication, that result would make me want to have them wear black every game. I believe the player demand for the next few games will be to win. Kiffin has them focused on what matters. Not trivial crap.

The players get pumped up with the black, so Kiffin should do the black uniforms a lot more! Maybe some games use black pants with orange jerseys, black on black, etc. You've got to keep the players happy.

Now that I have the full story about it being a last minute decision and being Halloween (duh), I get it. It's just kind of becoming a pet peeve of mine, because I think the "black out" is being very overplayed. Heck, most times I see a "black out" the team in black usually does not walk away very happy afterwords. The Georgia/Alabama game from last year always comes to mind.

I hope the black jerseys are availble in next year's edition of NCAA Football(video game). As crazy as it sounds, little things like that could help in recruiting.

I voted "like", but I don't want it to ever become a regular thing. It was cool for Halloween. A big surprise. I like the orange pants too, it wouldn't have had the same Halloween effect with white. If I'm not mistaken, it's the first win in orange pants for us in quite a long time, so that streak is broken at least.
