It's an expected reaction. The old guard is used to having a dull hick running the program in a manner that meshed with their hillbilly sensibilities. They can't handle change.

I think the black jerseys looked good. I thought if the pants had a black stripe and the helmet was black with an orange power T it would have looked awesome. I'm sure that's the end of it for this year but I like that UT is showing some willingness to be flexible on what the players wanted. They play the games, not me, not any of you.

NFL teams play in the retro's etc all the time to give their fans a different look.

Bottom line is, it's "Go Big Orange", not Go Big White. I don't care it they mix in Black, Gray or any other color that goes well with orange if it excites the players and recruits and pumps them up for the game.

I was at the game and assure you the Black Jerseys did not get booed.

Yes the black jerseys offended quite a few fans and alumni. But now I see where you all are coming from. Kiffin will do what ever it takes to get athletes in here. And I said, "What ever it takes." I am not so sure this is good. What will they demand next? Hey I will come play for you if.....Hey I really love this in a football team, do you think we could do that. Etc. I am really worried about the direction this guy is taking us.

There's no question that Kiffin is taking us in the right direction. It's so obviously clear as Fulmerites like you disappear with each passing week. Jimmy Hyams is not the only Vol fan offended by the black jerseys. Almost all of the fans over the age of 30 or offended. Alot will not tolerate Kiffin doing what he pleases. Slive has just about had his fill. Obviously Hamilton has no control and is a liar. Some high powered donors will make the difference.

Anybody offended by a jersey color needs to get a life. It was a big hit with basically everybody, and the only people that didn't like it are Jimmy Hyams types like you.
