I definitely heard booing on my TV set.

I was at the game and there was no booing! Every single fan was pumped up when they came out. The most amazing thing Ive ever witness whe they came out. Ive never seen Neyland so alive. Thats why we went up 21 to nothing so fast. It was Great!

It sounds like the Georgia Bulldog bandwagon might be more your style. Their black unis and helmets really make them look so "bad ass." :post-4-1090547912:

I'm sorry, but I fail to see any depth in or point to your post.
At least I'm trying to converse. I'm sorry if you're not able to intelligently reciprocate.

It's hard to take people seriously when they only make shallow, biting remarks that add absolutely no substance or relevance to the discussion.

I have no idea where you stand or what (or even if) you think.

Here's the problem with most sports fans: they're bigots.

It's like trying to have a conversation about poetry with a member of the KKK--it's pointless to reference Langston Hughes and his efforts to transcend "racial" boundaries, because you'll be shot down without any thought or consideration whatsoever.

It seems obvious to me that the uniforms were a definite factor in UT's performance tonight.
Denying that is just ridiculous--regardless of whether or not you liked the jerseys. They DID have an effect.

(also, even though I grew up in Georgia, but I've always been a Tennessee Vol!)

Yeah. I think the booing that everyone has been referencing was for South Carolina. While I find it disrespectful and unsportsmanlike, the fans always boo for the other team.
Just goes to show how people incorrectly attribute things (like the booing) to their own thoughts (like they're initial disliking of the black jerseys).

Ask Georgia how their black unis did for them? I'm sure that the Gators will be hoping next year that the Vols don't come out in those intimidating, motivating, bad ass black unis.

P.S. Thanks for the bigot remark since I fail to agree with you. It confirms your Georgia heritage.

I was speaking generally--not particularly to you.

But that "It confirms your Georgia heritage" sure seems to apply to the "bigot remark."

And it's definitely ok to disagree with me. I'm not even sure I absolutely agree with my current opinion, but for now I do.

It's kind of like saying you've played basketball in the same, worn-out pair of Chuck Taylor's your whole life, then you get the newest Air Jordans just before your next game (let's assume they're already broken in and what not). Are you not going to be so excited about the new shoes that you play better than you usually do?
The analogy may work better if you just consider having the same pair of shoes for years and then getting a new pair of the same shoe just before a big game--even if they aren't necessarily "performance-enhancing," they will enhance your psychological state and, thus, your motivation.

Someone could argue with you that it wasn't the shoes that improved your game (and they may technically, on one level, be right), but you know that they did help improve your game. They helped pick you out of a psychological slump that you didn't even realize you were in.

Do you see what I'm getting at?
The new jerseys helped. Even if it seems insignificant on the surface, there was more going on there than first meets the eye.

I understand what you're getting at. I just didn't care for the black. Maybe on Halloween only. Maybe.

Hopefully, they wear the black jerseys for all big home games and wear black pants on the road for big games!!!!

great game, I was there. No one in my section said one bad thing about them. yet here on Volnation we have all these internet tough guys that said they would leave and or pull donations.

Cowboy up punks. TN doesn't need fans like that.
I was one of them. Not sure what "Cowboy up punks" means. Could you explain? - they didn't teach that lingo to me at school.

Not sure about an internet tough guy, either - just have my opinion and my preferences. Orange shirts mean a lot to me. Will I still pull my donations for a while - maybe, still thinking about that. I have mellowed a little about it, but my base opinion hasn't changed.

Lane Kiffin--motivational genius!

Thank Monte. According to Hardesty in his post game interview, Monte was the one who got it done.

Props to Frazier and the managers for pulling that off on three days notice.

I never was against it, but I never thought it would happen. It was a very nice curve ball.

Fail... it was a Halloween thing. Coach Kiffin even made a remark about that during postgame with Erin Andrews.

I thought they looked awful, but I understand why it happened and how jacked up the players were. I hope we don't see them again for a very, very long time.

Oh and for the record, people who are actually pulling their donations because of this need to seriously rethink their priorities.

I thought they were good for the Halloween night game. They looked good but could probably look better with different combination colors of pants and so on.

I could care less if they are Black or our traditional Orange. As long as it fires our guys up and they win games it don't matter to me.......GO VOLS:yes:

Oh yeah.... Now I understand. Thanks for the clarification! :fool:

My point was that your point was poorly stated and unclear. That's why my simple logic holds up.

If you're trying to say that there is an emotional attachment to the orange of the Big Orange, then NO S**T!!!

Personally, I think that there should be a jersey change, but all black or all orange is the wrong answer. I think that it should be a combination of the two.
Not like the Bengals, but maybe slightly inspired by their “creative” design.
I must say that while I was born and raised in the South, I have always liked Michigan’s helmets. They’re sleek looking.
And that’s why I think our art department could help out (though I’m sure that would never happen). It’s all about badass designs these days. The Vols need to look more badass.
It’ll help their attitude.
(note: I'm not saying that we should change our uniforms that much--but maybe we should think outside the box just a bit.)

I mean, UT doesn’t exactly have a threatening mascot. A hound dog isn’t particularly threatening--unless you’re an escaped convict or something. :p
I must say that even a gamecock is more threatening than poor ol’ Smokey (I love Smokey, but you know what I'm saying...maybe...).
And something should be done about that.
That's why I fully support a jersey change for the UT football team.
The problem is, too many fans are too conservative (and, to be sure, I'm as fiscally conservative as a person can be). So a "democratic" vote would probably not result in much of a "change." :eek:lol:

So your for uniform changes...and worked bigots and the KKK into it

How can a discussion on a uniform change, lead into you classifying most sports fans bigots, that's idiotic

cowboy up – quit your *****ing and be a man. when it gets tough start playing hard.

Before the big game against our rivals someone said "Cowboy up" to the pesimistic pussies.

Not sure about an internet tough guy, either - just have my opinion and my preferences. Orange shirts mean a lot to me. Will I still pull my donations for a while - maybe, still thinking about that. I have mellowed a little about it, but my base opinion hasn't changed.

That is some weak sauce. Very weak, chachi. "I can't support our team because of the color of the jersey"...gimme a break.

You don't handle change well, do you.

The uniforms were FUN. The players are allowed to have FUN. The fans are allowed to have FUN watching the players have FUN. And the recruits are allowed to think Tennessee is the most exciting place for them to play.

The team running onto the field in those black jerseys was some SERIOUS FUN!!!! :dance2:

How would you know. Only thing you know about me is my opinion of orange vs. black jerseys. Fact is my whole life is based on business and personal activities all geared around finding better, faster, cheaper ways of getting things done. Embracing change for the better is something I highly endorse and practice.

Just like the orange jersey tradition, nothing more. Is that hypocritical - maybe. But its still how I feel.
