there is a joint in Leander, just North of Austin, called Coker's BBQ that actually does Brisket that is worth eating. Don't know how and don't really care, but it is very good BBQ.the notin of smoking a pork shoulder or pork ribs is lost on these idiots...they would rather cook a piece of beef for 5 hours and call it "brisket". I told em we cook beef too...for about 5 min on each side...and we call it an angus filet...

I'd almost go so far as to say that if it's not pulled pork, it's not barbecue. But the greatest barbecue I've ever eaten is the sliced pork at Ridgewood in the dumpy little burg of Bluff City, Tennessee, so I guess my mind's not completely closed on the subject.
Don't get me wrong...I've had good brisket. It would just never occur to me to cook a piece of beef for 5 hours. Of course, they don't understand why we would eat pork over beef...I tell em that's why we're from the South...and they just aren't...
I was gonna bring up Ridgewood....but I thought you guys wouldn't have a clue what I was talking about......it's about 20 mins from here
How ironic...but at this point, I would rather discuss pork vs beef, than the current state of our FB team..
