Bailey is in an all time slump. He’s a really good foul shooter. Last night he missed the front end on his opportunity. Last year he’d have the occasional shooting streak of knocking down a bunch of shots quickly. This year, really nothing is happening for him.

The city of Austin is going downhill. It’s San Francisco East now with all the homeless people who are catered to and the tent cities that have popped up. Nevertheless, making the 3-4 hour drive from Houston on Saturday and excited to see our Vols! At least one good thing from having the TX schools in the SEC is getting to watch a game in person once in a while.

Lived in San Antonio for 4 years and made the 80 mile drive to Austin often. Except for the SA climate (way too wet), both cities were good to great for most things. Great people (friendly, kind, respectful of others) except for the nut jobs (Cruz, Governor Abbott, Rick Perry) that make the national news. No regrets in living there. Heads up that most people in SA were not familiar with the Tennessee connection to Texas. Tennesseans know more about the battle for the Alamo than most locals. Maybe because Santa Ana won battle (but ultimately lost the war) Locally, the Alamo (Mission San Antonio de Valero) is one of the five 18th century Spanish missions designated by UNESCO as a World Heritage Site. It is the smallest of the five missions on the San Antonio River.

Nashville and Austin are on the same trajectory. Anywhere there is green space there are homeless people in Nashville. You know it’s bad when you have seen multiple people drop a deuce in public.

I remember loving Pearl's win over Texas, and how everyone, including Texas, was so out of sorts with his full court press.

It's not and isn't a full court press. If Pearl's team doesn't trap the guy that receives the in-bounds pass, then they fall back into their half-court defense. It's the exact same defense Dr. Tom Davis (Pearl's coaching mentor) ran at Iowa.

My bad, it's been awhile plus I'm not super familiar with basketball ins and outs. I just remember having fun watching teams turn it over lol. Thanks for the info. I have been getting more into bball especially now that my little girl just started and trying to learn more since I never played.

We've been working on cleaning up the homeless camps here in Austin, it had gotten pretty bad a year or so ago. Now we give them a one-way bus pass to college station. Problem solved!

Welp, seeing as my PhD is from Texas, I feel obliged to add that Austin and the university are actually pretty awesome and I have a lot of great memories from there. With that said, I hope we whip their tails!
I spent 6 years in central Texas, aka the hill country, and I agree that its a great place to live or visit. That said, #WGWTFA!
