I've read thread after thread after thread about Butch and his horrific coaching ability. While I agree he is in way over his head, I have yet to see anyone discuss the real reason for the decline in TN Football over the past 20 years.

Ever since Bob "The Blob" Kesling took over playcalling duties, TN has steadily trended downwards. He, like Butch, is in way over his head. He's terrible.

I am not 100% sure of the correlation, but just to be safe, Bob should pack his bags and leave with Butch.

(For those who have a hard time with detecting sarcasm, this is it. However, Bob is awful and needs to retire)

OP, your timing is correct. After Fulmer won in 98 it was a slow slide back down the hill.

OK - so we have speculated to the nth degree about a new head coach...let's say Bob hangs up the Mic...who would you pick (and no...John Ward cannot come out of retirement for the sake of this argument) ???

I would LOVE to hear Don Fisher from Indiana U call a Vols game...my second would be Bob Lamme of the Colts...third would be Ken Squire or Joe Moore from Nascar...what about yours?

Mike Keith and Bob Kesling were both up for the job and Kesling was chosen.

Mike Hamilton is responsible for all of this $hit. He should have to repay UT. Not excluding baseball, Men’s basketball, swimming and track. Total failure.

Like I have said more than once before, if they fire Butch I hope he leaves with John Adams under one arm, and Bob Kesling under the other.

He was boring on channel 10, and he was boring on Jefferson Pilot. He even made listening to Lady Vols games boring, and that was during some of their best years.

He may do cues and know the ins and out very well...after all this time, he should. But that doesn't change the fact his descriptions, inflections, and voice makes listening to a Tennessee game unexciting and painful. I don't mean compared to Ward or anyone else. I mean on his own.

Who would I get? I would try Ron Franklin or someone who sounds like him. Hopefully, there is a broadcast major at UT right now who aspires for the job and is honing his craft. Until that change is made, the sponsors can forget their commercials reaching my ears.

Okay, just to add another wrinkle... what if you had to choose the replacement from the regular Vol Callers?

How about Kesling under one arm, the Haslams under the other, and Adams in the rear where he rightfully belongs - it's in his nature to be an ass after all.
