If you look at what you just posted:
WR were not producing
Run game was not producing.

Add that up and you get: OL was not producing. That was your problem. (I believe there were injuries. Im sure someone will bash me if Im wrong! haha) Anyways, I think there were OL injuries. Your QB got hurt. Your back up QB was dinged.

Heck, you had to pull a 3rd string kicker off his couch for the MTSU game.

Passing game did produce before Hunter went down.

The OL was the best in the SEC at not allowing sacks though they played LSU and Bama. Basically the same guys that were sometime credible at run blocking as Fr the year before.

Bray's injury could have happened to any QB. Just a freak deal where he broke his thumb on a guy's helmet.

I think, more than anything else, your injuries just took their toll on the team.
No question about that. The Vols were too young and thin to take that many hits.

I "bash" Basillio and in particular Hyams because they "break" so many things that turn out to be completely untrue. Guys who don't condemn Dooley here are accused of being "sheep". But the true sheep are those who continue to take those guys serious. They have no contacts and have blown their credibility to pieces by either making stuff up or reporting stuff that was made up without verifying it.

wasn't there a thread started one time about Rogers possibly having tourettes? Could explain a little bit of the cussing spouts

Can we just reexamine this for a little bit? I would love to see this thread because I'm pretty sure that a) Tourette's doesn't make you curse randomly (at least not most of the time) and b) Da'Rick doesn't have Tourette's.

Not calling you out, I just want a link to that thread.

Anbody have any hard facts on that? IMOs not necessarily sought.

Don't shoot the messenger, but Hyams just said he was let go, is owed severance pay of $400K-$500K and that it had something to do with DaRick Rogers. I had not heard that before. Maybe da Skeet knows.

he is getting his contract paid off. that doesn't happen with resignations or retirements.. this was a firing

He got cussed out by Da'Rick and Dooley wouldn't do anything about it. So, Baggett threatened to quit and was fired. Meanwhile, we called Chavis and offered the DC job to him. And all of our coaches are jumping ship because they all hate Dooley and think he is clueless and won't be here after next year. Many players will transfer in January and Tyler Bray is academically ineligible and will miss the first 4 games next year. Athletic dept. officials tell Hyams and Basillio that Dooley is the most unorganized person they have ever seen. Hunter so upset about Arnett leaving that he stopped rehabbing. Neal leaving too. Recruiting class falling apart.

I think that about covers all of the talking points by Hyams and Basillio this offseason in their cloak and dagger manner. Unfortunately, many in our fanbase eat this crap up like a dog on a gut wagon.

No confirmation here - but look out for this one being true....I even suspect it might have something to do with not caring if UT became bowl eligible or not...he might have not been playing in it... Not sure about suspensions, though...

Hyams is competing with Mr. Griffith for Worst Reporter in Knoxville.

it's pretty bad when an "outsider" even recognizes how miserable this duo is. They are blatant with their agendas and then they act surprised when people call them out. It's disappointing to see these guys acting so unprofessionally.

Hyams treats the callers that call-in to his show like know-nothings. He seems to believe that he is some sort of all-knowing oracle.

I think LWS stated in another thread that there was a disconnect between Dooley and Baggett in how discipline was handled regarding certain players. Maybe he could clear that up if I'm wrong.

If, as has been reported, Baggett "lost" the receivers late in the season and they refused to play up to their level, somebody had to go. Replacing Baggett is easier than replacing the receiving corps. Something was wrong with the chemistry and it fell on the position coach to fix it ... he didn't.

Yeah, that is basically what I am saying. I think there were a lot of weird injuries, and just freak stuff happening.

I figured, even after that Florida game, that you had 2 more losses (LSU and Bama) and would win the rest.

Yall have a very good roster. Full of talent. It was just very young. Reminded me of a lot of the old Michigan State rosters (70s and 80s), where the first team could play with ANYBODY in the country, but as soon as someone (anyone) got injured, it messed everything up. And a QBs thumb is a pretty big deal.

I hope Dooley can pull his head out of his tookis and keep this team on the straight and narrow. There is a lot of promise, a lot of talent. But with SO MANY rumors about the attitude of certain players (dRogers) affecting team chemistry, you just have to think there is at least a little truth to them.

I hope he gets things going. This could be an exciting team to watch.

Reported or rumored on this board? Must admit, it does sound reasonable considering what went down.
