The quieter

I bet the silence is eating at the gators, more than we know.

It's eerie how silent the Vols have been. The UF players may not know what that means, but I have a feeling their older coaches may not be liking this situation. People who have lived a while will take unified purposed discipline over wild eyed passion every time.

Remind me again how much crap Alabama players talk before the game.... They don't neither does Saban. While we are no where near that caliber right now I stil believe being loud and talking crap doesn't mean you have confidence.

Probably most underrated post of this particular gator week.

Leave in AM for the 6 hour drive to Knoxville. Will hear ad nausem on Sirius radio why we will lose. Especially annoying will be Lou Holtz predictions. Hopefully on Sunday drive home will hear the excuses why they incorrectly picked UF.

Lou is still alive?

Much quieter and nicer without D4H. A few more Negavols need to also leave. VOLS 3-0. Beat Florida!

Yes. It's called class. No matter how the times change, it still carries a lot of weight. I can't remember the team being able to control themselves this completely for this long. I honestly see an epic decisive win for the good guys.

Arrogance is dangerous. Arrogance is what blurts out inane comments about ducks pulling trucks.

Confidence is arrogance under control. It requires discipline and constant attention. Confidence is not loud or boastful. It proves itself in actions rather than words.

Let's hope the silence from UT players this week results from the discipline, focus, and confidence needed to silence the arrogance of UF.

Go Vols! Beat Florida!

Had to give it up for Finebaum yesterday. A guy was talking about Appleby and said he has played in big games and before he could finish Finebaum cut him off with laughter and said "I promise you he hasn't seen or heard what he will Saturday."

Later on in the show he told some caller "I'm not sure he knows exactly what he's getting himself into."

So we have the usual two-sided argument going on.

I'm just so tickled we have yet another thread started on a pessimistic note. Can never have enough black clouds to blot out the sun.

How about somebody start one saying something like, "What if the Vols wake up Saturday morning and they all have food poisoning?"

The team is relaxed. You'll see how relaxed Saturday. You don't win 9 games without confidence and they know they have UF's number because how they lost the last 2 yrs. They know they must FINISH this game.

The quieter the Vols stay, the tighter they become. The more uf talks, the looser they get. IMO. That said, I would laugh if we knocked one of the loudmouths out cold, but that's exactly how they want us to be thinking.. Got to loosen up, and CBJ has got to look and be relaxed

I've always adhered to the "Talk softly, carry a big stick" philosophy. We're going to "Buford Pusser" the gators.

I think just the opposite. They are burdened with backing it up.

Correct, if trash talk was the sign of a team playing loose and not uptight every Alabama team would be the greatest trash talkers the World has ever known but for the most part they generally do not trash talk. That is usually a state of Florida thing for some odd reason.

Very few on here or anywhere today understand that trash talk is weakness. There is nothing more intimidating than not responding to trash talkers, just stare them in the eye and knock them on their a$$.
