Questioning The Hambone's employment decisions post-Cookie Monster is a legitimate argument. However, it has nothing to do with the state of the program during the last several years of The Fired Coach's tenure.
all Hambone had to do was get someone better...
I mean you don't fire someone and then set the program back with your hiring decisons
2. Haslem agreed to the firing for one reason and one reason only. He knew that if they did not get him in 08 they never would with his history of success and bouncing back. He did not want his coach's records broken. That simple. He played for Kneeland by the way. That contract was provided by and paid for by Haslem. Nothing gets approved there without his say...nothing.
3. Basically Haslem was saying here, we are screwing you and with all you have done you deserve to be wealthy from now on.
So again, unless you are cutting the check (and your ticket prices are not being affected), than what are you getting all worked up for? He deserves that much and more for bringing a University that has never been about titles its first undisputed title in school history.
I'm a little worried.
There seems to be an outbreak of good sense running through VolNation. You've said in one sentence, VII, what I've spent the better part of a paragraph trying to explain to folks. Brevity is the soul of wit.
This is why his days are numbered. He was told to get it right the first time.
Many on here act like they are paying it yet they have not given a penny over there. I guess jealousy is wicked. Let me help on how things are.
1. Most contract at a school that makes money (actually there are only 14) have buyouts in that ball park. Lil Layne and Dooley have higher ones. Fair to say who has done more for the Orange out of those 3.
