my brother's blackberry died in september and we had no plan upgrades until 1/11/11. he was lucky enough work had an older one they let him borrow until then. anyways, my dad had tried about a month ago to early activate my brothers new contract and they wouldn't let him. the wednesday before Christmas he walked into the store and the lil guy asked if he could help him. my mild mannered preacher daddy looked him dead in the eye and said "my son hasn't had a working phone since september. i pay you $180 a month and have done so for the better part of 8 years. he will have a phone for Christmas and I will not pay $700 for it, so you can't find someone to upgrade my plan 20 days early or i'll shut down my account with you and open up one with verizon before it gets dark tonight."

needless to say, my brother had a brand new blackberry torch under the tree on Christmas morning and my daddy didn't pay $700 for that *****.
