Pretty sure he could've donated that to the Boys and Girls club without his little TV special.

Of course. Regardless, I bet most of the people who make him a villain for it don't even know where the proceeds went.

Nazi Germany also accomplished some great things. Your point is what?

Not really making a point, just sharing the article. The OP came off much more pro-LeBron than I am.

That said, LeBron is like Nazi Germany now?

Except Milo, isn't part of godwin's law that whoever brings up the comparison of hitler or Nazis has automatically "lost" whatever point was being debated

....also by such the thread should pretty much terminate right here and now

Glad those kids got that donation.

Lebron could have also given b&gc without stabbing his home town in the gut.

Or not acting his age and having a college commitment announcement at his HS. Lebron you look 35. Grow up. When is his hairline going to take it's talents to south beach? ( thanks Dwight).

Good or bad, it took interest in the NBA to an entirely new level.

not really. In terms of aggregate fans it might have mattered, but the NBA isn't approaching the level of interest it had in the primes of Bird, Magic and Jordan.

Yeah, should have rephrased as I didn't really mean "unprecedented," just that ratings were the highest they've been recently.

I rewatched game 2 of the finals, and I hate him even more. He honestly believes he should be able to travel and foul as much as he wants. Then when he doesn't get a call he jumps up and down like a 4 year old girl throwing a tantrum, he did this several times in game 2.

It generated press but it's not like the "level" got anywhere near to where it was when Jordan was in his prime. The NBA has quite a ways to go to get back to that, and with the lockout, that's not happening for a long time I suspect.

And I'm pretty sure most already knew about the charity thing since that was made known from pretty much the beginning; that doesn't change the doucheness of the whole thing.

It's easily the most attention the NBA has had since Jordan.

But LeBron is only doing what more than half of Cleveland's population has done over the in the last 60 years: Getting the hell out of the place.

[Taxes are] what Clevelanders should be outraged about. Their economy has enough to deal with already without being put in a full court press by high taxes.

Cleveland needs to get rid of its savior complex. LeBron James could never have saved Cleveland--no single sports star or entrepreneur or bailout can--but there are definite, proven steps that any city can take to improve life for its citizens.
