I hate exclusives because there are people who just can't afford both consoles so they will miss out on some games. I understand why they do it though.

Both consoles have a few good exclusives out now, it will get better.

Also, you guys talked to me into Dark Souls 2. I am pumped about it.

Welcome to the dark side...

I disagree with Forbes with regards to both consoles. The systems are barely a year old and already we've got the following...

PS4

Killzone Shadowfall
Knack
The Last of Us Remastered
MLB The Show
Driveclub
Final Fantasy 14 A Realm Reborn
Infamous Second Son/First Light
Resogun
Little Big Planet 3

X1

Halo MCC
Sunset Overdrive
Titanfall
Forza 5
Forza Horizon 2
Killer Instinct Seasons 1 and 2
Max:The Curse of Brotherhood
Dead rising 3
D4
Ryse

Now I realize those games won't appeal to everyone but that is a solid list of exclusives for both consoles, particularly considering how young they both still are. Plus for the remainder of this year you have titles coming like Bloodborne, Until Dawn, Uncharted 4, Dragon Quest Heroes, MLB The Show 2015, No Man's Sky, The Tomorrow Children, Tearaway Unfolded, Alien Nation, etc on PS4 and for X1 you have Halo 5, Quantum Break, Forza 6, Ori and the Blind Forest, Scalebound, Fable Legends, etc.

After perusing your list, it's obvious you're less discriminate in your game preferences. I don't care about "exclusives." Just want more good all around games. In my opinion, few if any next gen games meet that description. Just my opinion.

Last of us doesn't count bc it was a polished version of a ps3 game. A great game, but a ps3 game nonetheless.

The exclusives have been a major let down, for sure. And you're right, there hasn't been a next gen exclusive game that has reached Ocarina of Time, Mass Effect, Dark Souls, Half-Life, Final Fantasy 7, etc. level of excellence. Just a bunch of polished remakes. I'd wager money on Bloodborne kicking that door down first.

True but then again, NONE of those games you listed came out in year one either. It takes time for consoles to hit their stride and typically it takes a good year or so before you start seeing those real AAA games.

I'm a fan of in-house exclusives because typically those are the games that are coded closest to the "metal" of a console. They maximize the capabilities of what a system can do much more so than multiplatform games do.

Overall I thought we saw a lot of "pretty good" games in this generation's first year and that's perfectly fine for a first year. If your criteria for purchasing games is only Instant Classic or no sale then you're not going to be playing a whole lot in a typical year. Those games you listed are few and far between.

Haha oh I'm not an Instant Classic or bust guy at all. I have purchased plenty of mediocre games *cough* Destiny *cough*

But yeah, it always takes a couple of years to get rolling with the classics. I think Bloodborne will set the bar for the remainder of the year. Witcher 3, Metal Gear 5, the new Batman, and maybe FF15 will hopefully round out the first set of true Next Gen classics.

It counts to me. It's a PS4 title that I enjoyed more so than on the PS3. If you're going to say The Last of Us doesn't count the neither does Halo MCC.

I'm late to this party but I picked this up for $2.00 after having a coupon at GameStop. I've only played the first 4 chapters but it's fun enough.

It should have been a 20-30.00 PSN title. It's a decent game but no way was it worth 60.00 at launch. You got a great deal on it.

Finished it yesterday. Not a bad game but rather uneven and it's a 5-6 hour game. I'm glad I didn't pay the full $60 for it.
