Is to refuse to participate. Don't buy tickets to the bowl, don't renew season tickets, don't attend games. If you aren't willing to do that, Butch will be here until HE decides to leave. If you are ok with that, then stop complaining about him. If not, boycott.

PS
It is interesting to see how many of the Butch apologists are seeing things more clearly today.

If our A.D. wasnt transitioning, he would be gone. But it is, and he'll get another shot next year. But the AD will really give him a short leash because of low bowl ticket sales, and low season ticket sales.

Nobody believes losing to Vanderbilt is acceptable. Ever. This year has been a disappointment. Butch won't be fired. A backup plan is not in place and if anything has been learned it's that unless you have a backup plan in place - you don't blindly jump into the coaching market.

I was able to watch the Butch Jones press conference last night. Looks like Butch arrived early. The press ran out of questions to ask him. Interesting how that got spun by the press who didn't make it down there.

Butch will be our coach next year. He will have new coaches to work with. Y'all need to accept that and start pondering who those coaches may be.

Tennessee has too much talent to lose season ticket sales next year. JG will be starting QB. The hype train will be back in Knoxville.

As I'm fond of saying, when I play golf the most dangerous club in my bag is expectation. The same has held true for Tennessee football as long as I can remember. (Recall nobody expected a NC in 1998)

I don't think so. Be damned if I'm giving up the seats that I've held for years that are next to my brother's because of Butch.

And i still reserve the right to complain about him as much as I want. Go preach somewhere else.

As far as I can tell, just one. His misguided belief is to support whoever the Coach is Until he's fired. No matter the record and no matter how poorly recruiting is going. He's the kind of fan that coaches like Dooley and Butch loves

Need to start with the defense. Look at all things objectively - figure out what the problem truly was and react accordingly. And if it is new coaches on that side of the house - don't get carried away with media and fan board chatter on who is good and who isn't.

I don't base my attendance on the head coach. I base it on whether I can afford it, and if I can get the time off to go.

I don't go or not go because of how I feel about the head coach. I go because I like going to watch Tennessee play football (even when they don't play good.) I like seeing the game in person.

But kudos to the rest of you for taking a stand if that's what you feel like you need to do.

Shoop does not hide the fact that his defenses are complex and that injuries cause him to spend his time teaching basics versus complexity.

This year Tennessee moved away from fundamentals and physicality during practice and more towards scheme. Why? To avoid injury (insert irony). I can guarantee this changes next year. Turnovers and tackling were the biggest downgrades this year.

I honestly wish some of you would read a post before replying to it. I am not telling you to boycott. I am ONLY saying if you, as a fan, want to make a difference in whether Lyle stays or goes, a boycott is the only "club" in your bag.

I will be going to the bowl. I will attend games next year. Not doing so is not the right answer even though some of you believe it is.

If you do stop remember you are withholding your support from ALL STUDENT ATHLETES at UT. So when you start seeing various teams not able to support their sport because of your actions- you will know why. And when the team is winning don't come back - band wagon fans are the worst kind of fans there are.

I support UT not because they are winning / doing good - I support UT to support the young men and women who have chosen to earn their degree while also competing in an activity they love. For some, this is their only way out of bad situations. For some, this is a way they can help their families and secure better lives for those they love. And those that are successful generally give back so that more young women and men have the opportunity to better themselves through education.

As is your right to do so. I will choose to withhold support for football until Lyle is gone, by his choice or the administration. I love the Vols too much for this garbage to be allowed to continue. I will support the other sports at Tennessee.

If we have new assistant coaches they won't be who Butch wants because he already has his guys in place and they won't be who the fans want because those guys won't come here to work for a lame duck under a new AD. I wish there was a way to replace Butch without involving Hart and Cheek. If Butch stays he may as well hire who he wants.

Man, I'm sure you guys have dropped a burger and fries a few times and didn't think you deserved to be fired. Hate to break it to you, but there isn't any magical fix out there especially with an insane fan base ready to run any coach off at the first sign of a set back.

If you are working a jigsaw puzzle and lose one piece the puzzle just ain't finished. Same with coaching, can't leave out a piece. Team just ain't finished. No shortcuts.

This. A lot of people are stuck on that "he didn't do the media press thing!" train, when others have said that he showed up, answered questions (albeit tersely, and let's face it, I'd be terse too if I lost to Vandyland), and left when they released him.

People need to settle down and stop looking for excuses to bash him. He'll get plenty of legitimate bashing for other things, but this is just a snafu being blown out of proportion. Just like his comments earlier this week.

That's probably a true statement. But heaven help us if that's the path "vol fans" choose. True fans (imo) will continue to support the team and the school, because they know it's not about themselves. I'm as disappointed as anyone with how this season turned out, but it's only football. I will support the current HC (whoever that my be) until he is know longer the HC. Anyone who believes we have games that are guaranteed wins is living in a dream world. GO VOLS!

Where are your seats? Are they good?

You do realize that most of the support for almost all other sports comes from football revenue? Basketball may be somewhat self-supporting but most of the other sports does not.
