The Ole Miss game just became alot more winnable

Just got confirmation today that Ole Miss is recruting both Nukeese and Edwards from Coffeyville Juco. Nukeese is playing mostly DB and some Receiver and Edwards isn't eligible because of tranfer rules from the 1AA he transfered there from. Also Arkie is recruiting them. Just an FYI...

Mistake if you ask me.

Masoli was going to get jacked up anyway in this conference. The speed of corners and LB's in the SEC is the closest thing to the NFL a QB or RB will see. I personally think he would have failed miserably.

Not a big deal. Weak QB in a weak defensive conference. Ole Miss wouldn't have beat us with him anyway. This is a non story. Not sure how the hell that thug is even allowed on any team, but that's Houston Nutt for you.

This is huge blow to ol miss. Imagine giving a qb all the first team snaps with a back up that sucks and now that back up is ur starter

Does anyone know how an appeal would work in this case? Will he be able to play while they appeal? If they do.

Yea sport I did look, it wasnt posted. The thread titled "Masoli" was started 1 minute before mine. We pretty much posted at the same time!

Duckman said if you call him "sport" again, he's going to take your avatar and show her who her daddy is.:)

Look at his stats against the 2 best defenses he played last year:

Boise State- 14 of 27, 121 yards and an INT.
Utah- 4 of 16, 95 yards and an INT

The best d he faced last year was OSU in the Rose Bowl and he didn't play well in that game either. But Masoli is legit and this a big blow for Ole Miss. The game really did get easier for the Vols.

From what I heard on ESPN, Joe Schad said he wouldnt be eligible till the 2011 season but if I'm not mistaken, Masoli is a senior isnt he?

he hasn't redshirted, Nutt could go that route if masoli sticks around to get that masters in park/rec

Ahh, yes, you're correct. His stats against OSU were: 9 of 20, 81 yards and an INT.

Masoli will get his ass handed to him on multiple occassions in the 2011 season. Not an impressive QB by any stretch.

Considering this years group of qbs in the sec, he would have come in and been at least top 3 IMO. If he was able to pick up the offense he would have been a difference maker. Looking at their schedule, the only defenses that he would have had trouble with would be Bama (of course),LSU, and maybe the Vols.

I disagree. I think McElroy, Brantley, Garcia, Jefferson, Mallet and both Newton's are better QB's than Masoli. Again, that is JMO. Wasn't very impressed with Masoli's ability to read top notch defenses.

Per Wes Rucker:

If Masoli loses his appeal and can't play this season for Ole Miss, my final preseason prediction for the Vols will go from 5-7 to 6-6.

Even Wes thinks it makes that game more of a win.
