2nd Timothy 4:1¶I charge thee therefore before God, and the Lord Jesus Christ, who shall judge the quick and the dead at his appearing and his kingdom;

2Preach the word; be instant in season, out of season; reprove, rebuke, exhort with all longsuffering and doctrine.

3For the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine; but after their own lusts shall they heap to themselves teachers, having itching ears;

4And they shall turn away their ears from the truth, and shall be turned unto fables.

Titus 2 mentioned sound doctrine...... Sound doctrine was instruction for how to live. Look what else Paul told young Timothy.

2nd Timothy 3:16¶All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness:

17That the man of God may be perfect, throughly furnished unto all good works.

The trouble today is that people will not be told what to do! Because of their rebellion, God said that he would turn them to fables.

James 11,12 KJV

11 Speak not evil one of another, brethren. He that speaketh evil of his brother, and judgeth his brother, speaketh evil of the law, and judgeth the law: but if thou judge the law, thou art not a doer of the law, but a judge.
12 There is one lawgiver, who is able to save and to destroy: who art thou that judgest another?

Hebrews 13:7¶Remember them which have the rule over you, who have spoken unto you the word of God: whose faith follow, considering the end of their conversation.

8Jesus Christ the same yesterday, and to day, and for ever.

9Be not carried about with divers and strange doctrines. For it is a good thing that the heart be established with grace; not with meats, which have not profited them that have been occupied therein.

17¶Obey them that have the rule over you, and submit yourselves: for they watch for your souls, as they that must give account, that they may do it with joy, and not with grief: for that is unprofitable for you.

24¶Salute all them that have the rule over you, and all the saints. They of Italy salute you.

I wonder who it's talking about here? I personally believe that is a pastor of the local churches of which I am not one. The preaching of the bible is a serious thing with God.
If the bible is rightly divided and preached correctly, it carries the authority of God with it. Just a little food for thought this morning.

Luke 16:19¶ There was a certain rich man, which was clothed in purple and fine linen, and fared sumptuously every day:

20And there was a certain beggar named Lazarus, which was laid at his gate, full of sores,

21And desiring to be fed with the crumbs which fell from the rich man's table: moreover the dogs came and licked his sores.

22And it came to pass, that the beggar died, and was carried by the angels into Abraham's bosom: the rich man also died, and was buried;

23And in hell he lift up his eyes, being in torments, and seeth Abraham afar off, and Lazarus in his bosom.

24¶And he cried and said, Father Abraham, have mercy on me, and send Lazarus, that he may dip the tip of his finger in water, and cool my tongue; for I am tormented in this flame.

25But Abraham said, Son, remember that thou in thy lifetime receivedst thy good things, and likewise Lazarus evil things: but now he is comforted, and thou art tormented.

26And beside all this, between us and you there is a great gulf fixed: so that they which would pass from hence to you cannot; neither can they pass to us, that would come from thence.

27¶Then he said, I pray thee therefore, father, that thou wouldest send him to my father's house:

28For I have five brethren; that he may testify unto them, lest they also come into this place of torment.

29Abraham saith unto him, They have Moses and the prophets; let them hear them.

30And he said, Nay, father Abraham: but if one went unto them from the dead, they will repent.

31And he said unto him, If they hear not Moses and the prophets, neither will they be persuaded, though one rose from the dead.

Hebrews 10:23 Let us hold fast the profession of our faith without wavering; (for he is faithful that promised;)

24 And let us consider one another to provoke unto love and to good works:

25 Not forsaking the assembling of ourselves together, as the manner of some is; but exhorting one another: and so much the more, as ye see the day approaching.

26¶For if we sin wilfully after that we have received the knowledge of the truth, there remaineth no more sacrifice for sins,

27 But a certain fearful looking for of judgment and fiery indignation, which shall devour the adversaries.

Church is a wonderful thing!! God meets with his people in a special way at the house of God!!!!!

Psalms 119:9 BETH. Wherewithal shall a young man cleanse his way? by taking heed thereto according to thy word.

10 With my whole heart have I sought thee: O let me not wander from thy commandments.

11 Thy word have I hid in mine heart, that I might not sin against thee.

The longest chapter in the bible is about the bible! It can't be expressed enough how important the word of God is to the Christian believer.

John 6:32¶Then Jesus said unto them, Verily, verily, I say unto you, Moses gave you not that bread from heaven; but my Father giveth you the true bread from heaven.

33For the bread of God is he which cometh down from heaven, and giveth life unto the world.

34¶Then said they unto him, Lord, evermore give us this bread.

35¶And Jesus said unto them, I am the bread of life: he that cometh to me shall never hunger; and he that believeth on me shall never thirst.

36But I said unto you, That ye also have seen me, and believe not.

37All that the Father giveth me shall come to me; and him that cometh to me I will in no wise cast out.

Are you hungry for a new life? Are you tired of struggling with your sin and want to make peace with God? Jesus Christ said come to him, and there's no case where cast you out! Just repent and trust him by faith!!!

Hebrews 11:1¶Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen.
2For by it the elders obtained a good report.
3¶Through faith we understand that the worlds were framed by the word of God, so that things which are seen were not made of things which do appear.
Verse 6 says,
6But without faith it is impossible to please him: for he that cometh to God must believe that he is, and that he is a rewarder of them that diligently seek him.

It is impossible to please God apart from faith! Faith is not blind faith or a leap in the dark. It's not a hunch or a nudge or seeking after a sign. It's faith in the facts of God's word! It's simply taking God at his word!

Romans 10:17 So then faith cometh by hearing, and hearing by the word of God.

Faith isn't receiving what you want from God, it's accepting what God gives...

Prayer is the greatest need I believe in the church today. It can do anything that God can do! I believe it's the greatest Christian privilege and yet at the same time it's probably our greatest failure.
I was thinking today about the proper way to make our petitions to God. Let's look at the prayer of that great prophet Elijah.
1st Kings 18:36¶And it came to pass at the time of the offering of the evening sacrifice, that Elijah the prophet came near, and said, LORD God of Abraham, Isaac, and of Israel, let it be known this day that thou art God in Israel, and that I am thy servant, and that I have done all these things at thy word.
37Hear me, O LORD, hear me, that this people may know that thou art the LORD God, and that thou hast turned their heart back again.
63 short words and the fire fell!

He prayed to glorify God!!!

Daniel prayed in Daniel chapter 9:3¶And I set my face unto the Lord God, to seek by prayer and supplications, with fasting, and sackcloth, and ashes:
4And I prayed unto the LORD my God, and made my confession, and said, O Lord, the great and dreadful God, keeping the covenant and mercy to them that love him, and to them that keep his commandments;
5We have sinned, and have committed iniquity, and have done wickedly, and have rebelled, even by departing from thy precepts and from thy judgments:
6Neither have we hearkened unto thy servants the prophets, which spake in thy name to our kings, our princes, and our fathers, and to all the people of the land.
7O Lord, righteousness belongeth unto thee, but unto us confusion of faces, as at this day; to the men of Judah, and to the inhabitants of Jerusalem, and unto all Israel, that are near, and that are far off, through all the countries whither thou hast driven them, because of their trespass that they have trespassed against thee.
8¶O Lord, to us belongeth confusion of face, to our kings, to our princes, and to our fathers, because we have sinned against thee.
9To the Lord our God belong mercies and forgivenesses, though we have rebelled against him;
10Neither have we obeyed the voice of the LORD our God, to walk in his laws, which he set before us by his servants the prophets.
11Yea, all Israel have transgressed thy law, even by departing, that they might not obey thy voice; therefore the curse is poured upon us, and the oath that is written in the law of Moses the servant of God, because we have sinned against him.
12And he hath confirmed his words, which he spake against us, and against our judges that judged us, by bringing upon us a great evil: for under the whole heaven hath not been done as hath been done upon Jerusalem.
13¶As it is written in the law of Moses, all this evil is come upon us: yet made we not our prayer before the LORD our God, that we might turn from our iniquities, and understand thy truth.
14Therefore hath the LORD watched upon the evil, and brought it upon us: for the LORD our God is righteous in all his works which he doeth: for we obeyed not his voice.
15And now, O Lord our God, that hast brought thy people forth out of the land of Egypt with a mighty hand, and hast gotten thee renown, as at this day; we have sinned, we have done wickedly.
16¶O Lord, according to all thy righteousness, I beseech thee, let thine anger and thy fury be turned away from thy city Jerusalem, thy holy mountain: because for our sins, and for the iniquities of our fathers, Jerusalem and thy people are become a reproach to all that are about us.
17Now therefore, O our God, hear the prayer of thy servant, and his supplications, and cause thy face to shine upon thy sanctuary that is desolate, for the Lord's sake.
18O my God, incline thine ear, and hear; open thine eyes, and behold our desolations, and the city which is called by thy name: for we do not present our supplications before thee for our righteousnesses, but for thy great mercies.
19O Lord, hear; O Lord, forgive; O Lord, hearken and do; defer not, for thine own sake, O my God: for thy city and thy people are called by thy name.
20¶And whiles I was speaking, and praying, and confessing my sin and the sin of my people Israel, and presenting my supplication before the LORD my God for the holy mountain of my God;
21Yea, whiles I was speaking in prayer, even the man Gabriel, whom I had seen in the vision at the beginning, being caused to fly swiftly, touched me about the time of the evening oblation.

He confessed sin of himself and his nation.

And then our wonderful Lord Jesus Christ prayed in John 17:1¶These words spake Jesus, and lifted up his eyes to heaven, and said, Father, the hour is come; glorify thy Son, that thy Son also may glorify thee:
2As thou hast given him power over all flesh, that he should give eternal life to as many as thou hast given him.
3And this is life eternal, that they might know thee the only true God, and Jesus Christ, whom thou hast sent.
4I have glorified thee on the earth: I have finished the work which thou gavest me to do.
5And now, O Father, glorify thou me with thine own self with the glory which I had with thee before the world was.
6¶I have manifested thy name unto the men which thou gavest me out of the world: thine they were, and thou gavest them me; and they have kept thy word.
7Now they have known that all things whatsoever thou hast given me are of thee.
8For I have given unto them the words which thou gavest me; and they have received them, and have known surely that I came out from thee, and they have believed that thou didst send me.
9¶I pray for them: I pray not for the world, but for them which thou hast given me; for they are thine.
10And all mine are thine, and thine are mine; and I am glorified in them.
11And now I am no more in the world, but these are in the world, and I come to thee. Holy Father, keep through thine own name those whom thou hast given me, that they may be one, as we are.
12While I was with them in the world, I kept them in thy name: those that thou gavest me I have kept, and none of them is lost, but the son of perdition; that the scripture might be fulfilled.
13And now come I to thee; and these things I speak in the world, that they might have my joy fulfilled in themselves.
14I have given them thy word; and the world hath hated them, because they are not of the world, even as I am not of the world.
15I pray not that thou shouldest take them out of the world, but that thou shouldest keep them from the evil.
16They are not of the world, even as I am not of the world.
17Sanctify them through thy truth: thy word is truth.
18As thou hast sent me into the world, even so have I also sent them into the world.
19And for their sakes I sanctify myself, that they also might be sanctified through the truth.
20¶Neither pray I for these alone, but for them also which shall believe on me through their word;
21That they all may be one; as thou, Father, art in me, and I in thee, that they also may be one in us: that the world may believe that thou hast sent me.
22And the glory which thou gavest me I have given them; that they may be one, even as we are one:
23I in them, and thou in me, that they may be made perfect in one; and that the world may know that thou hast sent me, and hast loved them, as thou hast loved me.
24¶Father, I will that they also, whom thou hast given me, be with me where I am; that they may behold my glory, which thou hast given me: for thou lovedst me before the foundation of the world.
25 O righteous Father, the world hath not known thee: but I have known thee, and these have known that thou hast sent me.
26And I have declared unto them thy name, and will declare it: that the love wherewith thou hast loved me may be in them, and I in them.

What great examples we have for prayers! I don't claim to be an expert on the subject but I do believe that God simply wants to hear from his children. I'm not sure that there's a right way or wrong way, but certainly there needs to be prayer!

Identifies as Kirby's little boy toy...
Is jealous of my hairy hiney
Has the biggest dingle berry collection in the state of Florida
Wears a wig made from The Fall guys but hair
Correction, I didn't call him a little sissy, I said don't be a little sissy...
Psshhh.... Florida sissy

This is why I can't take you seriously. Say what you want to about the rest of us, but none of us claim to be preachers. If you don't think there is anything wrong with this, I challenge you to post this garbage on your Facebook account for your congregation to see before you go preach to them and call them sinners.

There's no different standard for a preacher and a Christian. If it's wrong for me it's wrong for you. Fair enough, perhaps we should all be more mindful of how we kid around.

Lol, oh yes there is. Maybe read some of what James says about that. If you need some help with it I'll be glad to oblige.

You not getting it is amazing. Do you not understand that you're being hypocritical? It's not about what's wrong for me, I'm not a preacher.

I don't think those quotes of yours are all that wrong, but they are coming from you, a preacher, telling us we need to get right with God before it's too late, then calling Joe someone's boy toy. You're ridiculous and a big reason why people don't take religion seriously.

It's absolutely pathetic you don't understand you, as a preacher cannot do both.

/end of story.

Pot calling the kettle black
2nd Timothy 2:19 Nevertheless the foundation of God standeth sure, having this seal, The Lord knoweth them that are his. And, Let every one that nameth the name of Christ depart from iniquity.

Do you claim to be a child of God?

It's not the pot calling the kettle black.

Matthew 7:5 KJV

5 Thou hypocrite, first cast out the beam out of thine own eye; and then shalt thou see clearly to cast out the mote out of thy brother's eye.

You can't save anyone, all you can do is tell others about God's word. If you think you can save me or want to be glorified for "showing me the way ", you're worse off than I thought but I'm not surprised.

I've got my issues and you'd be stupid if you don't think I know it. One of my many issues is have someone calling themselves a preacher coming here trying to save people in one thread, and telling me I need to get right with God before it's too late then talking about having sex with goats, boy toys, hairy butts etc in another thread ....and then try to tell me a preacher isn't held to higher standards. Lol. What Bible do you read?

You're a joke simply for the fact that you don't get it.

Come at me again with pot kettle.

So you are saying you know what a real Christian is but you're not going to be one and you don't think I'm one either..... Okay thanks for letting me know.

Fair enough on my stupid JOKING AROUND. Just don't try to put a different standard on one Christian and act like you shouldn't follow the same rules.

By the way, when is the last time you tried to help someone to the Lord? Are you doing anything for God?

First of all,
I should follow the same rules. But if I'm not I don't tell everyone else they should be.

You do. Do you not understand that?

And it seems you're completely lost on the whole preacher thing.

Hey, but you keep on concerning yourself with me and my issues. That will take the interest off you with some so they don't see your ruse.

When's the last time you worried about being a hypocrite preacher and stopped worrying about making me more wrong than you.

You're the one that seems to have the problem Mr. Hypocrite.

Well it's my bedtime.

I suggest you either Preach and share the word, or post your silly jokes and stuff and keep your mouth shut about others getting right with God. It's a suggestion not an order. It's for your own good. Makes you look "Luke warm ". That's not a good thing, especially for a preacher.

If you think I care what you think about me and my spiritual condition, lol, you're way out in left field looking for a pass from Tiger Woods.
