I just can't understand why they shipped freese. Were things that bad last year? Guy goes from savior to getting the boot in seemingly no time. Find it hard to believe they couldn't afford to keep him financially if that was the reason. I do my best to avoid following anything cardinals so from an outsider it just seems strange. At least it does to me.

Freese was solid on D, but undisciplined at the plate this season in the games I watched. But with the trade they can now move Carpenter to third with the late call-up of Wong, who appeared ready.

Krol is just a guy in the bullpen. But a lefty guy. 89-91.

Ray was I think our #5 prospect and some people are higher on him than that but it's one of those "if things go right hell yeah" things not that hes already there. #3 upside I believe I read.

Quite possibly the best in baseball.

It does scream salary dump but it's still weird... trade porcello.
