They’ll have to have it written into their contract. It is an MLB owned tournament, and managed in conjunction with the MLBPA.

This year’s tournament saw zero Astros players participate. Altuve must be bummed.

I think the point of the tweet was to contrast the merits of the other two US coaches (who are highly decorated) to Derosa - and it was spot on in that regard.

Steve Kerr was not a “great” player, either. He is a great coach.

Mark Derosa was a comparable player to Steve Kerr. But Steve Kerr was a championship level coach, Mark Derosa was an MLB Tonight Host.

We can do better. The US Team deserves better.
