Goff and Donnan didn't earn it. Richt did, but he was always an outsider, so he never got the 100%. Kirby was an alum and player. Richt was an easy fire when Kirby appeared ready to poach because IMO his Parkinson's was already surfacing and he was in early decline. He did as well as anyone would have at the time at Miami, but it was obvious then he was not progressing well and he retired. If they hadn't of done the deed then, Kirby would have been poached somewhere else and history would be different. UGA just knew what was coming with Richt and pulled hte plug so as not to lose out. Otherwise, no coach with Richt's school record winning gets fired after a 10-3 season and no truly bad seasons ever. It was a well orchestrated and successful coup.
Sark had a rough go setting out on his own but is doing good now that he has got that past behind him.
Dabo did very well too and got two natty's. But, he is in decline because unlike Kirby he won't get with the times like it or not. Saban didn't like it, but he got with the times until he was ready to walk away on his terms. Dabo didn't get that or Clemson would still be a force. Kiffin could have been much better than he's been, but his immaturity set him back a bit and he had to oversome some perceptions of him and grow into the job. I think he still has a pretty hard ceiling because of all that.
Also notice though that even though Richt was a Miami alum/player and 3 year HC, because of his long tenure at UGA, all his involvement post-career is with UGA. He has stayed involved with them and he was not "cast out" when he was fired. He supports the program, does charity events with Kirby, etc. for Chrone's and Parkinsons. His oldest 11 year granddaughter has Chrones. My brother has it. Nasty stuff. He still has enough wits to be an ACC analyst, but at only 65 now, he looks and shuffles like a 75 year old. Still lives in Athens.
