This will be long. Read if you want..
Paralegal 1 - is on the team of the paralegal (my birdy with the info) and attorney I support
Paralegal 2 - is on the team of another attorney that is currently out on leave. She and the attorney I support both report up to the same managing attorney which is why my attorney is handling the hiring of these two positions. I have a little more experience with this position.
Paralegal 1 - they really wanted someone in Iowa
Paralegal 2 - they really wanted someone in Dallas, but they have no one in Dallas that moved on.
Well they had a candidate in the legal Dept in Iowa that they loved. Problem is..she is an attorney. They are speaking with HR about what the pay cut would be. They aren't sure if she would take it. She just had a baby and wants to work less...okay if that's who they want...but will she stay? My Birdy is not happy about her being on the team potentially.
So apparently after that it comes down to two candidates. Myself and another one. Birdy really thinks it's me for the 2nd one..however, if this other chick doesn't actually want this position she seems to think it is me for the one on their team and the 3rd will get the paralegal 2.
Birdy also tells me they were going to post for a higher up paralegal for this team (they have 5 levels of paralegal here). They may give these two positions to myself and the other girl, and give the higher up paralegal to the attorney, which pisses of Birdy because she was going to apply for it.
So it sounds like I may be good either way, but a lot to deal with because of this one crap attorney applying for a paralegal position.
