It’s how June has gone for the past couple of years, it seems. Cooler and less humidity until a point where we break into hot and humid with less rain. Mid June to mid July last year was so hot and humid, but it didn’t rain. I’ve read that the climate has been cooling in the southeast for 30 years and it seems to add up, IMO.
Globally, too, according to NASA's measurements. We're beginning a solar period that is predicted to cool the earth significantly for the next 30 years.

I've read that the sun keeps a very stable 209 year cycle. Who do you trust to tell the truth on these things?

Bruised Orange, that’s who. I’m actually one who has always been into weather and then, climate. We’re on the same page, man. I’m not completely convinced that another ice age is on the horizon, so I’ll just keep watching baseball!

Without diverting the game thread for more than one post, have you read or heard anything recently that confirms or refutes Dr. John L. Casey's premise in "Dark Winter" from 10 or 12 years ago?

I'm not really "into" climate change science, per se. (I am cynical about anything that gets broadly promoted to change the behavior and lower the standard of living of the non-affluent). Climatology simply became more relevant when I began reading Joel Salatin and thinking about purchasing some farm land to be set aside for young homesteaders to get an affordable start on.

Wow! JP kicking a hornet's nest in the upper strata, on behalf of his fellow Vol athletes/performers!

Personally, I would be fine if our donors were provided their own first-class egress route from events, if it would keep them engaged with what the athletes are trying to accomplish.

edit: Oh. JP fan.

….speaking of relevancy, anyone have thoughts on the game to be played today instead of the crowd or climate?
Guilty as charged.

But this is about showmanship! You gotta let the anticipation slowly build up to these postseason games in the winner's bracket. Gotta let the fans go to church and eat Sunday dinner, and then start watching to see who we're even going to play tonight, how many pitchers they're using, and what the weather's gonna do to the start time.

The crowd & climate talk is just the opening act that allows the excitement to build. It's all about the emotional choreography. :)

Clemson and Kentucky in an elimination game. I'm good with both being eliminated.

Other SEC teams in elimination games: Miss St, Oklahoma, Georgia, Florida, Ole Miss, Texas, and, of course, Vandy. I hope they all lose.

Ridiculous to see so many prime seats empty with the game still on the line.
Guess they left early to get a table at Calhouns, and to avoid an extra 10 minutes in traffic..🙄
This just in. It’s really easy getting IN and OUT of LNS. Especially when UT Parking Services leaves both G16 entrances/exits open. Unlike Neyland, traffic is nothing before and after games. Zero reason to leave early IF it’s traffic related. Now, my wife made me leave early once after getting rained on and sitting thru a lengthy rain delay but that’s another story. 😀🍊👊👊👍👍🍊🍊😀😀

I kinda wonder if we, as Tennessee fans, aren't programmed to leave an event early since the majority of us have been in traffic after a football game. 🤷‍♂️

Maybe so but one of the many reasons I hardly miss a BaseVols game (besides the fact that I’m addicted to Vols baseball) is that it’s so easy to attend. Besides the 4 hour drive, once you‘re in Knoxville, it’s such an easy event to attend. Close and free parking, little traffic, easy in and out, and an extremely HIGH QUALITY product. I hate seeing so many people leave after the 7th inning. I’m sure the team does as well.

I don't disagree with you at all.
