THE Official Tennessee vs. W. Kentucky basketball thread

I saw nothing tonight that indicates Prince is going to make a significant impact against big time competition. He got some rebounds and inside buckets against a team completely devoid of interior talent. He's supposed to be some sort of defensive stopper, but the two times he got isolated on the wing with Courtney Lee he was thoroughly abused.

Courtney Lee will thoroughly abuse a lot of guys. He's way better than I remembered.

Hat, how would you feel if every one of our players had this line against an NCAA tournament team:

19 min., 8 pts., 7 rebs., 2 asst, 2 stls., 1 TO

To everyone, not just Hat: I don't care that it's his first game of the season or that he was sick or that he didn't do squat while he was at Arizona. Who cares?

Can we just evaluate Prince (and everyone else, for that matter) based on what he's doing this season and not on what he might do or did 2 seasons ago?

I'll give it a start: Good game from Prince. It wasn't perfect. But he helped us win last night. So I'm glad he's playing for us.

Depends on which NCAA tournament team it is. If you do that against the PAC 10 champ, I'm impressed. If you do it against the MEAC winner, not so much.

IMHO I thought Prince was solid. He is another roll player on this team. Remember Lofton had 14 and we scored 88. We have some players.

What is wrong with Chism. Is he just soft?

I consider a significant impact being a player who makes a difference in the outcome of games.

Do you think Prince made a difference in the outcome of that game? I believe, in addition to his pts, rebs, assts, he also drew at least 1, maybe 2, fouls against Lee, forcing him to sit a good bit of that game.

I saw him do nothing outside of what others on Tennessee's roster can. It took him 5 field goal attempts and 8 free throws to get to eight points, nothing impressive or efficient about that.
