Bunch of knee jerk reactions in here. Was it a "bad" loss? Yes. However, the guy's not even through his first season here yet. Lets get a couple seasons under our belt before we start the "Bring back Cuonzo" chants.

Let's take Michigan, a team I follow. Beilein always used a 1-3-1 at WVU (right before the Big East became a juggernaut) and when he first came to Michigan he used it exclusively. They were getting torched. He decided to go to man and it has worked out and has stuck with it.

Tyndall might have to do that.

I never said that. And you know I didn't. If we dribble dribble all night and then pull it at the last second it's kinda hard to make anything. Once again you bring him up with me not mentioning anything about him.

I have always loved UT basketball and have been going to games since the Ernie and Bernie days. However, after the Bruce Pearl fiasco I realized this current Administration does not give a rats azz about basketball because if they REALLY wanted a competitive program they would have hired Pearl back or gone out and spent enough money to get a top notch basketball coach. Therefore, I no longer purchase season tickets and probably never will again until we our AD shows he is serious about having a competitive basketball program once again.

There hasn't been an AD that cared about basketball since before Dickey was hired. Mears accomplished what he did in spite of the administration.

You have to be in the body not across the court and running at them. When they catch the ball you need to be right there with your hand right in the face. I understand that in a zone your not able to do that as much which is a huge problem with the zone. The game is turning into more of a three point game you have to stop it.

Even with a solid post presence I don't think it would make a huge difference. Our rotation defensively sucks, we lose too many shooters, we don't run shooters off spots, AND coaches are finding easy spots for long range shots.

this x 10...dumb as I am, just a lurker most of the time...I know when a kid makes 3 shots from the same spot on the floor...to at least get a hand somewhere near him... my grandmother could sit there in her wheelchair and get a touch on the ball...I can't blame the kids...

What you have seen is teams all year shoot over their average from 3, it's the coaches job to adjust and stop negative trends

Completely disagree. Hart could have kept Martin and taken 20 win meh seasons if that was true. Instead he took a risk to find a better coach. Will see if it works.

Dallas they hit a ridiculous amount of threes. You can do things as a defender to prevent threes it's just much harder in a zone.

Very true. Bob Woodruff was a football guy too. Not sure we will ever have an Administration that actually cares about Basketball enough to spend money on a big name coach. At least not in my lifetime.
